Redwood - you heard it here first
How about In-N-Out?
They're still numbered though.I really miss numbers. I can't remember what Yosemite was as compared to Oak Tree, etc. But I do know 10.5 came out before 10.6.
But also a bit hairy...Mammoth as it’s going to be a huge release
Really good point. I mean this was also the release where any remaining carbon components were rewritten and the Gx Processors were left behind. No small undertaking. This article needs to be linked to every time someone goes off about the “Bug free” Snow Leopard.
“In fact, Snow Leopard was quite buggy, and Mac OS X 10.6.0 was certainly much buggier than Mac OS X 10.5.8, released a few weeks prior.”
In fact, I’d argue when it comes to new features and changes, modern updates like Monterey and Sequoia are significantly smaller than the jump from Leopard to Snow Leopard.
People will always look for something to complain about.People would complain it was a big nothing burger; and bugs, well...
I've been wanting them to do this for both hardware and software for years. It makes way more sense to me.Why don't they just use the year of release and call it Mac OS 25, iPhone 25, iOS 25, Macbook Pro 25 and iPad 25.
Currently I'm running iOS18 on an iPhone 11 from 2020 with a mac os 14 on an macbook pro 15.1 made in 2019.
It's clumsy nomenclature.
That was literally my first thought too....that's one way to try and get some tariff relief...If they go with Pacific, hopefully this won't later take us down the route of macOS Gulf of America…
This is literally the bug that made me start backing up. I lost so much data I was furious.People have a way too rosy view of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Plus it left many with perfectly fine and relatively new PPC Macs stranding.

Or a bit further and call it Tijuana? They used Ventura, why not just go south a few counties and name it macOS Vista 🤣
