I think they'll use Pacific because it's much more familiar to everyone globally. I live in CA for more than 30 years now and this is the first time I heard about Tibo whatever the hell that is.

They're still numbered though.

macOS Sequoia is the same as macOS 15
macOS Sonoma is the same as macOS 14
macOS Ventura is the same as macOS 13
macOS Monterey is the same as macOS 12
macOS Big Sur is the same as macOS 11
They just like to ignore details like that in most everything. In the full description of sequoia the only way you can find out it's 15... is looking in the footnotes.

Was much nicer when numbers were more important than names. IMO. But I'm old. Meanwhile, back to my 2012 Air running Mohave. Hmm.. What number is that one? 🤣

I really don’t care about the name but they have to put some effort in MacOS and safari, it’s not getting better for years now

Hoping this is the year they get away from these names. Not likely. El Capitan, Mavericks, and High Sierra. Enough of a reason right there to stop with this lack of imagination, but I guess it fits perfectly with how much thought they actually put into the OS quality as well. Wonder if screen savers will be the lead feature again. Let’s see what product marketing and finance have cooked up for us this year.

I say they should go in a different direction now…

macOS Kafrene
macOS Fondor
macOS Ghorman
macOS Ferrix
macOS Wobani
macOS Aldhani
macOS Niamos
macOS Chandrila
macOS Yavin

Let us please stop naming things after California. The state isn't worth the Pollyanna nostalgia. Beside, if you read the book APPLE IN CHINA, you would think they could call is macOS Beijing.

I think we can rule out Redwood. I don't see Apple doing two tree/forest themed OSes back-to-back.
