My biggest gripe is the rename from 'System Preferences' to 'System Settings'. Was that really necessary?
And carrying the change through to applications is confusing my decades of selecting app 'Preferences...'
Having to find 'Settings...' in Apple Apps, but third party apps still being 'Preferences...'

I wish they would add a freaking hint of contrast in apps like Mail so the folders bar, commands up top, emails/folder summary, and email preview didn’t all blend together in a complete white-out!

I wished it brought hdr10+ support …

Yeah im Being obsessed with it

hmmmm, is that HDR? oh, sure is. It is easy to find on some external monitors, but not on Samsung for some reason perhaps other than Samsung sucks. I had to go into a couple of menus to turn on HDR (yah, not one, but multiple menu items, important one seems to be the auto HDR under General, external device manager). someone please teach Samsung how to design a UI, please, please

When it comes to matching with every other operating system Apple has, yeah, I thought it was a good move.
Surprised it wasn’t done back in Lion/Mountain Lion when the rest of the applications names were changed “iCal=Calendar, Address Book=Contacts, iChat=Messages, etc.”
As for third-party applications, that’s literally just a simple update that most will make within a matter of days.

A little disappointed that this won't come to my MBP13 2016. I don't need stage manager but think the continuity camera is pretty cool.

Anybody running Adobe Creative Cloud on the Ventura betas? I'm going to be so tempted to upgrade but not if it destroys my ability to use Illustrator...

Why would you upgrade something, that works? Wait a few months and upgrade then, if you must. As would Yoda say.

Alas, my 27” Retina iMac (which is still awesome) will longer support Ventura and there is *NO* 27” iMac replacement.
As a former iMac 5K owner, I definitely sympathize. The 24" M1 iMac is really really nice, but to me it was like going down from a king sized bed to a queen: technically big enough but you can't quite spread out the way you want.

You're probably right but new features are shiny. Also, if Stage Manager is helpful in taming the 10 billion windows I end up using as I work through my day, it would make my life easier.

I'd check your display settings. While I agree there could be more contrast, to say in a complete white out is incorrect, unless you have your display settings really messed
Does Mac have a contrast setting similar to iOS?

It’s pretty consistent across at least 4 monitors:
The built in M1 MBA
2006 era 30” Cinema Display
LG 4K monitor
LG 1440p monitor.

When compared side by side to my 2014 MBA still on Sierra, that was a nice interface that I wish were still the norm.

Not to mention the snowblind look in Apple Music on the Mac.
Ever since Mac Music went to the minimalist flat red on white amaterish unfinished interface with iOS7 and Yosemite, it’s been a non-starter disaster. User ease out the window, and for what gains?

Could I do a clean install of Ventura from Big Sur?

Would it at all matter I'm completely skipping monterey?
