What you're saying is a different situation than "regularly donating", but even still, the rule exists.

I also am not claiming more gay people are HIV positive at all, I am just saying it is a rule. Again, I don't agree with it and find it super discriminatory, but I also don't support people using their privilege to lie.

What privilege is being used????

Spoken like someone who's never needed blood.

And that is also you admitting you have nothing else to say / knowing I am not saying anything untrue.

It's a rule, and your friend is lying because he can easily pass off as a straight man and they won't know. There are plenty of honest and respectable people in this thread who know and respect the rules. Maybe your friend needs to learn a thing or two from them.

You do know that doesn't justify lying or them breaking the law, right? Maybe not. What other illegal means do you try to find loopholes in? Drinking and driving?

Also, a "blood drive" isn't an emergency situation.

By the time an emergency occurs, it's too late for a blood drive. We're using what we have banked.

There's one week left in the MacRumors Blood Drive.

The long Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. is an ideal time to donate blood or platelets and save up to three lives.

We especially welcome first-time donors to ask questions or let us know that they've donated.

The MacRumors 2017 Blood Drive has ended. We choose one month each year to call attention to donations, but there are people in need every day of the year. Please continue to donate blood and platelets.

Congratulations to the participants in this year's Blood Drive, who donated 80 units of blood, platelets, and plasma, our highest-ever total. Since we began holding the annual MacRumors Blood Drive we've recorded donations of 469 units of blood, platelets, and plasma! We've posted a complete breakdown in the Blood Drive thread.

We thank the many anonymous donors in our community, and we offer a special salute to the donors who stepped up to help us publicize the critical need for these acts of charity. See the Blood Drive Honor Roll for a list of this year's donors.

If you are a regular donor, please continue the habit. If you are an eligible donor who hasn't donated before, consider making your first donation to save some lives. If you aren't eligible to donate, please support and encourage those who can. You are welcome to read and share our information pages:

Thank you!
