Says you? Many of us have been using usb c for years. I can’t think of one instance where a usb c failed like many of our lighting cables.
So where are you getting this information?
Tim Cook is this you?
I know this is a joke and all... but I will give a response anyway... size and reversibility were great trades for any supposed durability losses over 30 pin.If it’s durability your looking for. I got this 30 pin connector your going to absolutely love!
Foldables? You mean those badly specced out, double the cost phones that last 5 minutes with a giant crease in the middle? Yeah no, apples not doing that. If you think that’s better you could….you know….buy one? Here are two examples:
I dunno... The Apple I've heard of doesn't back down from tough engineering challenges.Foldables? You mean those badly specced out, double the cost phones that last 5 minutes with a giant crease in the middle? Yeah no, apples not doing that. If you think that’s better you could….you know….buy one?
>USB-C cables can last just as long as a Lightning
It's not about the cable, it's about the connector.
USB-C ports seem to become unstable easily on Mac Books. I've experienced and know of two other owners who have.
The Lightening is cleary a snugger firm design.
I would much rather replace a ten dollar cable than the internal port on the device. I'm going to really enjoy all the failed port and outrageous replacement cost posts about 500 days from now.Says you? Many of us have been using usb c for years. I will not enjoy them, I can tell you.I would much rather replace a ten dollar cable than the internal port on the device. I'm going to really enjoy all the failed port and outrageous replacement cost posts about 500 days from now.

As the great late Steve Jobs would say “you’re holding it wrong”I will not enjoy them, I can tell you.
While I like the idea of having just one cable and power adaptor with me to charge all my devices when I travel, I am also no stranger to USB-C port defects.
My MacBook Pro has one broken port where the power transmission does not work at all anymore, and data transmission is pretty unreliable. I have disposed of one power adaptor where the port would only work if I put the cable in and hold it at a certain angle.
In ten years with Lightning, I had one cable break, but not even at the connector, but from bending it too often.
