I like that idea. I plan to upgrade when iPhone goes USB-C - I'll post of my Lightning cables for free (receiver pays shipping) on the marketplace forum here.Or give them away to the many people who still use a lightning iPhone or other lightning devices. Just because the newest iPhones will be usbc doesn’t mean everyone is going to switch all at once. Relatively few will switch per year. If everyone who does switch gives away their cables (to friends/relatives, on Craigslist, etc.), people will probably stop buying new lightning cables and we can probably ease off them without wasting much. Hopefully there will even be drop off and pick up programs.
It's so fast it's out of phase with time. The picture's not blurry. The phone is blurry...
And the Pro Bump. You have three holes at the back, while the peasants only have two.
You mean Pro “it’s not a toomahh!!” 😁And the Pro Bump.
Unstable? Not on my MacBook Pro m1. It’s not a strong argument to keep lighting. It’s slow, annoyingly proprietary, and the burn of carrying extra cables exceeds any benefit of a “snug” fit.>USB-C cables can last just as long as a Lightning
It's not about the cable, it's about the connector.
USB-C ports seem to become unstable easily on Mac Books. I've experienced and know of two other owners who have.
The Lightening is cleary a snugger firm design.
Basically - rumors suggest the non-pro 15 will get A16/6 GB and a 48 MP main camera and dynamic island (but without Promotion), so it basically ends up being a 14 Pro in an aluminum body, without Promotion or a telephoto lens but with USB-C, and (probably) the latest Qualcomm cellular modem.Hmm, so now the regular non-pro iPhone will basically be in -1 generation in design and hardware/chip.
Round corners distributes the energy from an impact better than sharp corners. Any extra drop protection for these fragile phones is a bonus in my book.Is it just me or do those corners seem super rounded.
It's a real shame they couldn't have just made that standard. Never had a loose connection on the iphone and always feels solid as opposed to usb c that I've had multiple times disconnect. It's funny they brought back magsafe because on my apple made laptop.. with the apple made charging cable i never felt like i didn't have it cause a bigger pull on it would just unplug it (definitely a great feature to have when connecting external storage where even a bump on the laptop would make the thing disconnect....)Unpopular opinion: Lightning is a better connector physically than USB-C. Sure... I know why people want USB-C on an iPhone. (Standardization, faster transfer speeds, charging...etc.) But from a durability standpoint... I think Lightning is better.
Exactly. Apple designing and then releasing a future iPhone doesn't at all change my existing devices that use Lightning.Or, you know, keep using them with our many existing lightning devices.
As if your current phone will magically converted to usb-c.Neat. Now we can mass throw away lightning cables to help reduce waste!
I am sorry but I hated the lightening cord and port. I can’t tell you how many cords I have gone through. To have one common charging USB-C cable is highly desired by many IPhone users.
Images said to depict the standard iPhone 15 model were today provided to MacRumors and shared on Twitter by leaker Unknownz21, giving us our first look at the iPhone 15's design in full.

The images show off the USB-C port at the bottom of the iPhone, which is replacing the Lightning port that Apple has used for every iPhone since 2012. The entire iPhone 15 lineup will transition to USB-C due to charging port laws implemented in the European Union.
The front of the iPhone 15 is also visible, and as this is the entry-level iPhone 15, there are no major design changes to the chassis compared to the iPhone 14. Rumors have indicated that the Dynamic Island that was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will come to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, in addition to the iPhone 15 Pro models. Note that the published images have been edited to be lower quality as requested by the original source that shared the photos, as it makes the origin more difficult to trace. The device in the images is an early iPhone 15, which Apple calls D37, and while it is unlikely that there have been changes to the design, it is a possibility.
Earlier this month, Unknownz21 shared an image of the iPhone 15 Pro chassis, but that was limited to the USB-C port. Still, that image provided details on some of the design changes that Apple is making to the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, such as deeper curves. These changes are not expected for the iPhone 15. In addition to an iPhone 14-style design, it will be equipped with an A16 chip, Wi-Fi 6, and a Qualcomm X70 modem.
For more on the features we can expect to see from the iPhone 15, we have a dedicated iPhone 15 roundup.

I do not understand why Apple cannot offer the Periscope zoom lens in pro models. That is the only advantage the Samsung camera has over Apple.

lol what? How in the hell is a Qi charger faster than USB-C that can deliver 100W.
Unless you're using the old 5W charger as the source.
That makes senseRound corners distributes the energy from an impact better than sharp corners. Any extra drop protection for these fragile phones is a bonus in my book.
lol. Apple could be doing much more to make their iPhone lineup interesting again. Right now, all the rumors about more RAM and more speed are only predicting the present. To change a product, Apple is going to have to do more.Says the guy on an apple rumors site
Maybe it's glow in the dark so you can plug your phone in at night
Give me some examples? Phones have been mature for a long time now, no point fixing what isn’t brokenlol. Apple could be doing much more to make their iPhone lineup interesting again. Or you can give it to all other users of previous iPhone. Which are a bunch of people.Neat. Now we can mass throw away lightning cables to help reduce waste!

Unless Apple releases a iPhone 16 mini next year. Like I said in a previous comment, it would be nice if Apple alternated between the mini and Plus models every two years. Unlikely to happen, but it would a nice dream come true for some people.Significantly lighter and minimal camera bump is my wish list. Going to be very hard to upgrade from a Mini otherwise.
