So , are there NO rumors for the next release of Any IPads... Other than a new size.... Im wondering IF there is going to be a March release ? Nothing on the Front Page of Macrumors? Has Apple finally perfected its ability to not release info before its time?

There are rumors...Google it.

But the latest is yields are low and may delay iPad news till 2nd half 2017.

My personal opinion, we will see a release in late march.

I can't see Apple waiting almost two years to update the pro with a new model. Also with the iPhone 8 release, they will debut the new A11 chip. It doesn't make sense for them to debut the A10X and A11 chips at the same time. By waiting till the second half, Apple would cause a lot of damage to their image and finances. Speaking of finances, if there was a real chance of delaying the release of the new ipads, don't you think that some worried investors would have caused a dip in Apples stock prices? Add in the fact that now they're saying that the iOS 10.3 will release in march/April and rumors of a new Apple Pencil would come out around the same time, I just think a end of March announcement for iPad makes sense.

This is just my opinion.

There's been plenty of rumours: A near bezel-less 10.5" model, a cheaper new 9.7", and an update to the 12.9" Pro.

Possibly in the case of the iPad Mini.

That's not accurate. MacRumors has had plenty of rumors other than just size variants. Search throughout the Website.

Yeah if true the 10.5" iPad must be the best kept secret no pics or leaks or even cases that I've seen.

That's plus the Apple Pencil never saw that coming.

I think you have hit the nail on the head! All your points I think are bang on.

reason why apple may be delaying the new iPads is they won't want the iPad to have no home button or basically no bezel before the new iPhone

Why would it damage their image? Apple didn't say March, Cho did.

As for finances... I don't really see an impact.

"Delay" isn't really a correct term - there's been no announcement, no promise of a date.
The AirPods were delayed.

They didn't have to say March. Apple has an established pattern for releases. Consumers expect certain Apple products at certain times of year based upon past releases. Everyone expects Apple to announce a new iPhone in September. Could you imagine the fallout if Apple doesn't release a new iPhone this year? That would destroy the image everyone has of Apple for being a reliable phone maker. People would then start looking at alternatives which in turn hurts them financially. Same thing happens with iPad. If they wait till the second half of the year, it would be the first time an iPad has went two years between releases.

First, iPads have two established windows: Spring and Fall. Early iPads were released in the Spring, but latter iPads (the exception being the 9.7 Pro) have been released in the Fall. It's not unreasonable to say iPads would have a fall release date. There are two reasons people expect March: They didn't release one the past fall and Cho said so. It could be fall.

Second, iPads are not iPhones - Apple can release iPads with longer cycles because the consumer upgrade cycle of a tablet is VERY different than a phone.

Third, there's a first time for everything. If Apple feels the iPad Pro is sufficiently specked that it doesn't need an update in a year, then that goes to show they designed an iPad to last. The 12.9" is a different class of iPad which has no history - we can't say for certain what Apple's plans are by looking at patterns for this device because there are none.

As I said before, it's just my opinion. I don't see Apple going two years between releases. I also don't see them introducing the A10X at the same time as the A11. What really has me wondering about a late March release is, I can't find new 12.9 pros for sale anywhere. Amazon is out of stock, Best Buy is out of stock, B&H is out of stock, MacMall is out of stock, Staples is out of stock, and Walmart is out of stock. The places that do have them are either third party sellers or refurbished units. If I wanted to buy a 12.9 cellular iPad today, I would be hard pressed to find it. To me, that kind of points to a sooner rather than later release date.

So in my opinion, we will see an end of March release.

On edit: everytime I see your username, I can't help but think, "emissary". Lol

Yes, the 12.9" iPad Pro, and the 9.7" iPad Air 2 are both getting very scarce for new units at retailers. I would have to believe that this points to new releases coming soon.

The 12.9" iPad Pro stock is a bit surprising, I would assume that it would get a price drop and still be available.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying they WON'T come out with iPads in March, I'm just saying the reasons we're basing this expectation on are less than solid - not something to base an expectation on - though is plenty reason for anticipation.

Also, I am one with Bajor...

I don't think that most consumers pay that much attention to when iPads launch, to be honest. If you ask the average person when the last iPad came out or when they expect the next one, they most likely won't know. You might even be surprised how many people don't know when to expect the next iPhone. Most people don't give these things much thought.

For ten years same "low yields or manufacturing issues" for imagined delays, all about the clickbait.

I am sure there is going to be a new iPad, if they don't release new features on the 12'9 Pro, i think they will just upgrade the chip and very briefly mention it.

Doesnt bother me in the slightest...I can wait.

In fact, I might do nothing even after the annoucement. Something tells me the news will be lackluster.

Apple really hasn't impressed me these last few years. iPhone and iPad are known quantities and offer few surprises.

I'm ready to drop $1000 on the pro 12.9"...but it's gotta be worth it.

I posted this in another thread already, but it fits here too. I was in my local Sam's Club the other night and they had a sign out on their table with all the iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, etc. It said that there was currently a global back order on the 12.9" iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, Apple Watch Series 2, and Apple TV4 and that they were sorry they didn't have any available.

The iPad's being out of stock makes me want to think that we are getting updates soon, but the Apple Watch Series 2, and the Apple TV4 surprise me. I wouldn't think those would be getting updates yet, so I'm not sure what is going on?

Still debating whether to get the 9.7 or 12.9 Pro for work and my note taking/organization enhancement that I am looking to do.

I have a rMBP and will probably keep it so the 9.7 is winning at the moment but trying so hard not to buy now.
