I'm also am ready to drop some serious cash for a Pro, to replace my iPad Air, but the new Pro(s) gotta be upgraded significantly enough to convince me not to just get a Referbished version 1.

Also, the price doesn't bother me. Reason being I used to be dead set on replacing my 2008 MBP with a new MBP costing thousands of dollars. Thanks to all the production delays, over the past couple of years I discovered a much cheaper iPad and came to the realization that it's all I need for my computer needs (even being the older Air model). Replacing it with a Pro model will be a welcomed huge jump in performance.

I posted this in another thread already, but it fits here too. I was in my local Sam's Club the other night and they had a sign out on their table with all the iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, etc. It said that there was currently a global back order on the 12.9" iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, Apple Watch Series 2, and Apple TV4 and that they were sorry they didn't have any available.

The iPad's being out of stock makes me want to think that we are getting updates soon, but the Apple Watch Series 2, and the Apple TV4 surprise me. I wouldn't think those would be getting updates yet, so I'm not sure what is going on?

This is interesting that you should mention this! I work for Sam's Club as a technology supervisor. I received an email the other day regarding this. It went out company wide. My store in particular has  TV's for days, and we have since shortly after release. We did have several iPad Pros of both screen sizes, and then poof.. Shipments on pretty much every  device we sell just stopped coming about a month or so ago.
