Which company does Macrumors use to host its forum, or is it a standalone host linked to Macrumors?

Reason I ask is I like the direct upload option to the forum from my mobile device, and was wondering if another forum (don’t hate on me) I visit could get this option. So just gathering some info for them.

Thanks.

File uploads are just part of Xenforo. Not sure what else you mean?

I asked on the other forum and got this response :

It is if we host our own content. Something we’ve historically never done.

So my question is are the uploads stored directly on the forum or is it an add on you can pay for and the uploads are stored off site?

uploads are stored on the server, so it takes up room.

You have to have your own hosting to set up xenforo. You can't pay them to host it. So how much it might cost depends on the storage you have.

Hi,

We use https://www.hostduplex.com/ as our server host.

Direct file uploads are more a function of the software though and we use XenForo for that. https://xenforo.com/

Rather than jumping on to another thread, piggybacking this one.

What forum provider does MacRumours use? The UI looks close to a Vanilla forum I'm on which had a disastrous migration (from VB) and isn't working half as well as this one.

Thanks. The UI is almost identical to the new Vanilla one the other forum uses, so I wasn't sure if MacRumours moved over in the interim since this thread of 2020.
