Ankk, thanks for your polite and considerate post, as per usual

You might try doing the same. I told you what I'd do if I was unhappy with a site, but then you go and turn the words around to make it seem like I was telling you to leave. Others told you that, not me. Anyway, like I said, you came on here with a negative tone and it just got worse the more you posted. Commenting on someone's English is over the line don't you think?

Your main point, which had some merit, was that we vote on how the forums are structured. MR is pretty much telling you that's not going to happen, but if you provide your comments about what needs to be changed they'll take them into consideration.

Just throwing an interesting (I think) idea out there. With the new technologies (well, not so new anymore, but you know what I mean), you can pretty easily make the organization of the forums customizable. Users can rearrange the forums as they see fit, and it'll be saved with their usernames.

That'd be cool I think.

@ravenvil. That sounds like a great idea.

So, any news of putting this up for discussion and making it a site wide sticky?

I am sure there are going to be lot's of very helpful suggestions from users here.

I just don't see why the moderators stubbornly refuse to open this up for discussion. Even if one considers their layout optimal (which it's not by far in my opinion) I can't see, and I certainly haven't heard any decent justification about, why they are not welcoming user feedback.

Isn't this supposed to be a user community? Why has it come down to pleading with them for something that is standard practice (user feedback on such matters) in most other forums? It's obvious to me this has to do with some misguided notion of authority ultimately, I can't justify this stubborn refusal otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

This is where this belongs to, in the feedback forum. This has nothing to do with MacBook Pro for example so why on earth would this be sticked there? This is as open as it can, anyone can join the discussion if they want to. If a member like you finds the layout bad, he can come to this thread/forum and post his opinion but most people seem to be okay with it, it cannot satisfy everyone. Most people would just say it's okay because it does its job and they have other things to do than think about how it could be better. AnnK also said she cannot promise that this will be opened even more (a poll by admins), that is up to admins and mods. If that happened, then there should be at least two finished options (even with screenshots), not just raw ideas.

Your opinion how they should be wasn't a bad idea (all HW in HW and all SW in SW etc) and I'm sure it'll be taken into consideration (it would add simpleness but e.g. SW forum would have a lot of sub-forums so it has its own disadvantages)

If you look at the first replies on this thread, you'l find out that most people find the current layout being just fine, just like its predecessor.

Nobody is being stubborn. The layout is set up as you see it. If you think there is a need for change, I implore you to state which changes you wish to see and why. They will be read and taken under consideration. Several people have already done that and we've altered the forums because of their feedback in this forum.

The forums are set up how they are because they have to be set up in some fashion. No matter how they are set up not everybody is going to agree on it, especially with this large a user base.

I will say it again to be very clear.

You and everybody else on this forum have the moderators and admins personal invitation to leave constructive feedback on how the forums should be organized. They will be read and taken under advisement. If it makes sense, it will probably get done. If it's "6 of one and half a dozen of another" as I've heard said then it may just stay as is though also.
