Recently (at least the past few days, possibly longer) I've been having odd issues with using these forums.

This is with my 27" iMac late 2014 running Big Sur 11.6.1 and using Safari 15.1.

For example:

- hovering over a forum member's name/link results in a pop-up that is faded and ghosting, and does not disappear unless the page is refreshed
- posting a comment - does not appear on the page I am viewing until I leave the page and then return
- unable to edit a comment - clicking on the 'edit' button results in the post seeming to partially open up for edit but it is not editable and nothing can be done. Leaving the page and returning to it, then sometimes am able to edit normally.

I have not tried using other browsers to see if the same issues are present. It's not stopping me from most normal viewing and participating on the forum but it unusual and kind of funky at times.

Also - hovering or clicking on the alerts bell at the right of the black menu bar, next to the icon for my own profile and the envelope for conversations, used to result in a pop-up that listed recent activity on watched threads. Recently this is not happening and it instead does nothing or clicking on the alerts bell takes me to the Alerts page listing recent changes.

(I added the last paragraph above using 'edit' for this post, and it worked properly - this time)

Hmm. Sounds like JavaScript oddness.

1. Any extensions you can turn off?
2. Trying another browser would be helpful to know if it’s browser specific
3 if you can pull up a JavaScript console it may list some errors

I don't use extensions with Safari. My Safari preferences lists only 4 extensions installed, all are unchecked so I assume that means they are inactive (Webex Meetings 2.2, and three extensions from Parallels Toolbox which I no longer use - Download Video, 'Open In' button, and Screenshot Page).

Seems to work fine using Firefox (I'm posting this now using Firefox). I can try other browsers as well if that would be useful.

How do I pull up the JavaScript console?

I removed the Safari extensions, not using those programs anyway so decided to clean them out of my system. Cleared website data for MacRumors. Restarted.

Seems to be ok now. I'll let you know if it comes back . . .

Thanks for responding & your suggestions.
