Hi,

We've upgraded the forums to the latest version of Xenforo. You may notice some small changes here and there. There are some bigger changes under the hood but we haven't enabled those yet. Right now we just wanted to get this up and running on the new version.

Let me know if you notice any issues.

thanks

It looks neater, and 'cleaner', and more legible.

Well done.

Fonts are slightly larger than they used to be, with Edge on Windows 7. I don't have a 'before' shot.

Edit: It looks like it's the
Code:
font-size: 1.5rem
line under
Code:
media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" .structItem-title
If I disable that using the dev tools then the text returns to normal size.

I fixed this.

When i try to view my content, it is only showing 2 posts i made today. When I looked an hour or so ago, I could see pages and pages of my recent posts.

I'm rebuilding the search index so old stuff will take a little time to reappear

Also, the MR icon in Safari favorites is broken again, has a white background that used to be transparent. Seems like this happens every time there is an upgrade, though.

It seems that now read notifications in the upper right aren't removed but only marked with a bullet. I much preferred to see only new notifications each time I tapped the icon.

Yeah, there is a bug apparently, preventing to un-mark the read notifications.

I, however, prefer this new system where I can see the most recent notifications, because once you click on one of them to go to that post, you “lose” the other notifications, unless you go to the notifications webpage to see all the notifications. This system is much better from my point of view.

By the way, excuse me for posting this bug on the wrong thread. Twice.

I have this in Safari (attachment). Additionally, it would randomly not respond to punctuation input (dots, columns). The composer body is hardly distinguishable from the tools menu.
Have you decided in favour of annual updates of the design? I see that you want to reflect Big Sur design changes.

The font sizes in the edit window and other windows where there's controls like check boxes are smaller

The notifications (clicking on the bell icon) seem to be full of duplicates with no easy way to differentiate new from old. There's only a subtle change of blue/grey; not so easy to pick out on a small screen.

The "bullet" someone above mentioned simply appears next to whichever notification you're hovering over.

This morning each notification has an empty bullet, even after tapping Mark Read. No idea what's going on. Yesterday they were filled-in bullets.

There’s a new banner for people to become a member, but it’s blinding in dark mode. Could you make it black for the dark mode interface? Thank you very much.

Thanks for the upgrade & keeping everything running! The new similar threads is a cool addition.

I noticed in the first-level forum lists, the icons are not displaying correctly, with a folder over the custom icon.

I'm using Safari Version 14.0.

Huh, your system must not have those emoji. I see blanks on iOS too, so guessing they will come in future iOS updates.

Now that quotes of other posts are done a little differently in terms of appearance is there a good way to add a quote when editing an existing post? It used to be mostly a matter of copying and pasting, but that doesn't seem to retain the quote block/context now.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

But, if you hit "reply" on post, the quote will appear in the reply box. You can copy/paste that.

It seems like when you copy that and paste that into let's say another existing post you are editing only the content of the quote seems to get copied without the attribution and link to the quoted poster and post. Perhaps this is related to rich text vs. plain text being used in the post editor, although I'm not seeing a clear way to switch between the two.

Edit: Looks like the option to "Toggle BB code" (which is a little hidden away) is that essentially controls that -- with BB code enabled quotes will appear in their visual blocks and simply copying and pasting them would only pick up the content of the quote and not the whole block (with quoted poster and post attribution), while with BB code disabled quoted posts will appear with their "QUOTE" tags and when the whole block is copied and pasted with those tags then the quoted content along with the quoted poster and post attribution gets retained.

I too find the new setup frustrating. To do any kind of copying, you need to click through and turn off BB code.
