#MacHorticultureRumors :D

Though I personally don’t love it, it seems like it could be a good space-saving idea for some people. Maybe putting a cactus on it would help draw moisture out of the air if you had an iMac in an area with poor ventilation.

When I saw the name “Baxter” I thought of the Baxter the cat in the old Meow Mix commercial:

And I can see why he would order this:

I’m a complainer yada yada. The lame excuse of complex international laws on giveaways. Funny, I can set up a giveaway of my books on Goodreads. No restrictions there. You need a better excuse MacRumors, or is it shipping costs the reason? State that the winner pays shipping, problem solved.

I actually love this creative idea the plant is a bad idea I must admit but the rest is wonderful
Aside from the questionable utility, not to mention aesthetics, of this "solution" to our gadget-based storage dilemmas, I can't help but wonder how all that extra weight at the back of the iMac affects the tilting function of the stand assembly.

And how much stuff is going to fall off those little shelves on a regular basis when we periodically adjust the angle of the screen for optimum viewing comfort?

If you like this item really that much, go for it. In fact, feel free to use my Rafflecopter entry ballot :D

Funny, I can set up a giveaway of my books on Goodreads.

Maybe that's because Goodreads is owned by Amazon, a huge international company engaged in shipping and promoting goods and services all around the world - employing teams of well-paid lawyers versed in local trade regulations - whereas Macrumors' owners run a bunch of ad-funded websites from the US and don't even have their own space rocket program yet.

State that the winner pays shipping, problem solved.

...and are you sure that doesn't constitute an illegal lottery in New Zealand, count as mail fraud in Argentina or make the deal subject to European Union distance selling regulations... or that it doesn't make the winner liable for income tax on the value of the goods in Greenland? In which countries would MacRumors be regarded as the retailer of the goods and be directly liable for damages if someone electrocuted themselves while watering the pot plant hanging off the back of their iMac?

No, I don't know either - perhaps you'd like to launch a crowdfunding campaign to pay an international trade lawyer to find out? Or do you feel lucky?

I didn’t know something like this existed at all. Yet I appreciate promotions like this done by MacRumors even though maybe half or more of the page visitors actually cannot participate.

I am the guy that designed the Baxters. Thanks for all the constructive criticism! Being part of the maker movement and loving wood and lasers I admit that this work is a bit nerdy for the apple market. Plus we got carried away with options and yes, the plant photo prop was out of line.
The one we call Joe Baxter in Walnut is the one I use, it is kinda low key. I just had too many hard drives and cables to deal with.
We bought a sawmill last year and now produce computer stands using sustainable urban wood. In a few months, we will bring a much more elegant look to the market.
Being a generally quiet person it is pretty wild to put myself out in a public forum for the first time.

This device is great for people whose space is disorganized. It is similar to having a key rack on the wall.
No it isn't. I puts everything where it's hard to find and hard to access. Notice that nothing is wired up in any of the pictures. There's a reason for that. Even the product names are hokey.

Kudos for putting in a response to everyone's reactions. Well done. But what is that last sentence saying about your current products?

Actually the aluminum base doesn't tilt nor move it's the screen that tilts up and down. But you question does have merit so does the back of the screen touches the shelf in anyway that could produce a disaster especially if you have HDD's

Yet another WTF moment when it comes to Apple accessories...
Definitely top 10 dumbest inventions ever.

All cool, but would you pay even a dime for it? Seriously?!

I can see this as being very useful. Like you I’ve wanted to better deal with the clutter of multiple external drives and cords. Good luck with your endeavor!
