Become a MacRumors Supporter for $50/year with no ads, ability to filter front page stories, and private forums.
The contest will run from today (January 1) at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time through 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time on January 8.
The contest page says there are 18 days left to enter. (It said 19 days earlier today, before 11:00 AM PST, I guess.)

Most UPS's now at least let you replace the battery easily.
From what I've read, the ability of a surge protector to provide protection against surges degrades over time, so it should be replaced every couple of, or every few, years, anyway. (Yes, I know a UPS is an uninterruptible power supply, but I haven't seen a consumer or small business UPS that doesn't offer surge protection.)

What a great give away! Including the two solar panels makes this a solid prepper gift. Not gonna lie, would love to see this in my inventory of supplies. Will buy one, or something similar, at some point, when funds are justified.

Would love to win this. I was just looking at this type of product so we can power some of our devices during power outages.

How about a generator that is charged from a stationary bike? How would the KW hours generated by all the biscuits I shove in my face compare to solar?

I say this because while the grid almost certainly fails now and then, I fully expect I could use off-grid power here-and-there more likely than I'm going to live in full post-apocalypse. And some of could stand to lose a few.

The Jackery website says "Founded by a former Apple battery engineer..." The packaging shows an Apple influence. Mine came triple boxed. The interior box has a built in handle, the power station was in heavy black foam. Even the included paper documentation was Apple like, it was small and absolutely minimal. In all a nice unboxing experience.

Regarding weight, it is less than half the weight of my small Honda generator, which I was happy not to need to use during our last power outage.

Dashboard widgets are, unfortunately, no longer supported with macOS Catalina and above. All I see is a blank white space, although that could also be my browser's spyware and ad blocker, but in either case, shame on you! Very lame of MacRumours to leave those of us using currently supported hardware and/or don't want our systems infected with spyware out in the cold.

Seems like the link to the giveaway page works:

This is the first thing MacRumors has given away in a long time that I really want! Been thinking about buying one of these since the weather is crazy where I live. Had an ice storm the other day but fortunately didn’t lose power since it stayed barely above freezing for part of the day. Would also be handy for camping.

I would love this. I need a power supply to keep my heat running during the (common) blackouts.
I bought one offered on IndieGoGo, but that was a year ago and I think they stiffed me. Can't afford to buy another, so winning this would be wonderful.

Posting this on January 4, 2021. Says 16 days left in the contest, but then in the last paragraph of the post it says a winner will be selected on January 8. Which is it?
