Hello.

I've noticed something. When I try to log in to MacRumors, I do so as usual. However, a message appears saying I'm already logged in. Is this a bug, or what's going on?
 
is this every time? are you obviously not logged in when you try to login?
 
It happens everytime when I try to log in on my smartphone. Don't know why. I log off right now and log in again. Let's see what will happen.
 
That is really stange! Tried to log off but nothing works. After revisiting the page the following message appeared:

Oops! We ran into some problems.
Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again.
 
you can't logout? 🙂

not sure what got stuck. you might have to just delete your macrumors cookies and re login and see if that fixes everything?

Yes, I can't.

I can delete the cookies, but that's only a temporary solution.
 
well, there may be some weirdness in your specific cookies. I haven't seen the issue myself. I think clearing your cookies and seeing if it recurs is probably the best first step.
 
Okay, this isn't meant to be spam, but I think it's important to get some feedback. Now it worked without any problems – logging in, logging out, and logging back in. Really strange! Apparently, an administrator found the bug.

What exactly is happening? What page are you visiting and are you clicking Login because you aren't logged in?

Hi.

So, I first went to the homepage, then to the menu, selected the forum, and clicked "Log in." I entered my login details as usual, and then the message appeared.

Uh, no, I don't have an iPhone; it's a Google Pixel 6 Pro with Google Chrome. Do you need the version number?
 
- I made a small change that might help

- If it doesn't, is there a way you can record a video of the whole thing?
 
Okay. Logging out works without any problems, but the message saying I'm already logged in persists.

That's not my point. My point is that its not a critical error that is preventing you from accessing or interacting the site. Nor is the impact actually detracting any material quality of life.
 
Quick update: the error hasn't recurred so far. If it does happen again, I'll post it here in the forum. Or should I send an email instead?
