I thought it was obvious mad jew.

We're all waiting for your user title to tell us what that next processor will be. After G5, you hit Intel, and soon after that, you'll tear through the 'Core Duo's' and other code names. Then you'll be able to tell us, processor after processor, which is the next one to come in a Mac. Think of it as being physic. ;)

It is part rumors/help and then a big part of it is the community. I love the people here, the friendliness of everyone, etc. It seems people come here for Mac help/questions, but end up staying because of the community. This is one of the very few boards I know that can do that.

Oh & xfiftyfour & MovieCutter, I have seen you guys get involved individually in tons of threads recently. 'Just an observation.

Yup. Everything from free Mac advice to random pics of someone else's jump drive... MR has something for everyone! My personal fave is the personalities of the members here, I was a virgin to forums and wasn't sure if people would be all bragging and posing cuz you can't really see 'em... I feel like I know some real people here.

I only used the cool smiley 'cause mad jew did.

I stay because of the people, private forums (woohoo), and that good feeling that I just helped someone....or insulted them.

After 3 years of being here, I'm comfortable and don't plan on leaving, it's like my home on the web.

i keep coming back because i'm becoming addicted.
... such is my personality. :)

but seriously, this is HUGE forum and i think its always great fun to read posts from folks all over the globe. :D

that.. and i own a few mac's. ;) AND have a few mac interests.

 private forums..?

It started because it was fun to help people who were new to OS X....then I started learning new stuff just about every time someone posted...and sure enough, now I'm an addict.

Interesting theory. Keep on posting Mad Jew, I want to know when Apple switches to using the PowerPC G6 processor. ;) :D :)

I enjoy share different perspectives from other continents.

Oooh, good point. I love the international flavour, even if the Americans are mainly oblivious to it.

Interesting theory. I'll see what I can do...

Same here.

Same here. Oh, wait...

I do not do on-line forums. I lurked for around a year before I got in here and still feel like a tourist, but I find it amazing that MacRumorers can jump from basic to programming knowledge, politics to love, movies to depression, in a (usually) erudite and witty way. Depending on the posts, I'm reading MR for techie stuff, social buzz stuff, political explosions ( skunk, IJ Reilly, and especially Desertrat), advice to the lovelorn, food, music preferences, personal hygiene, from people around the world. MR makes procrastination a virtue.
I have no idea what you guys are like IRL, but I'm enjoying your virtual presence way too much for my own good. (I'm writing this at 11:30PM...in bed...while my significant other is sleeping----how whack is this?)

I can't escape.
MattScott has me chained up in his basement with a laptop that can only access MR!:)
