I have a very addictive personality, and MacRumors sure beats crack!

I love to help and be helped, and the regulars are great people. I love you all!

Also, I thought I would quit buying old macs too, but that darn kid, classof2011, needed help with his imac g3.

Sigh: I bought another one to fix up.

I think it's because I have an additive personality.

The 1st reason I came on here was because i just got my MB and wanted to reformat my ex-hd. After that i just stuck around.:)

I started out on this site just before purchasing my Macbook about 10 months ago. To be honest I didn't really use it for the first few months but ever since those months I've been totally addicted to it, and to this site. I'm just building up my knowledge now so I can help others out, and learn more myself. This OS is so much better than Window$ and the community is a lot more ... intelligent ;)

I found the forum because of my interest in a Mac, moving from Windows.

Three Macs and ~five years later, the people, the topics, and the community here keep me coming back.

Boredom.
Distraction.
Agreed.

I initially started lurking because someone close to me was already an addicted member and I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. All the wild 'n crazy, adulterous, flaming, manic hoopla that is MR. Though I am still a relative "noob" (as the condescending call it :p ), some of your names were already familiar to me during my first few visits. I can see how MR becomes quickly addictive. All the wit around here just kills me :D (really).

As soon as I read the thread title, Blue Velvet came to mind. :D

Hmmm... quite.

Blue Velvet always helps me with my design questions, thanks for all the help.

Aww... it's my pleasure to help where I can.

As well as all the reasons that others have mentioned: community, interest, entertainment, Mac stuff... I want to pass on the goodwill and put a special shout out to two people who sometimes might get overlooked.

I have some friends here and they don't need me to mention their names... but two people who don't really know me at all mean a hell of a lot to me and I always read their posts because they're so damned interesting and relevant...

iMeowbot and iGav

Thanks. :)

I can't escape.
MattScott has me chained up in his basement with a laptop that can only access MR!:)

The rules are you aren't suppose to mention the fact you are locked up! That'll be ten lashings with a wet noodle for you sir. And no more alcohol privileges.

Picture of your car thread, and random community threads. Its what I do when I am bored or procrastinating.

Debating with AntiSUV people is enjoyable, as well as with Clarence and the ridiculous pimping of his cars.

Yup. Everything from free Mac advice to random pics of someone else's jump drive... MR has something for everyone! My personal fave is the personalities of the members here, I was a virgin to forums and wasn't sure if people would be all bragging and posing cuz you can't really see 'em... I feel like I know some real people here.

I only used the cool smiley 'cause mad jew did.

This is the only forum I post on too. At first I lurked around when I was changing to Mac then began to join in. Sometimes I'd like some help, occasionally I can give a bit, but mostly it's nice to know what's happening with everyone. It's like dropping in on friends to see how they're doing. I'm not be a prolific poster, but I read a lot! It's great.

PS I only used the cool smiley 'cos srf4real did.

MR is nice....I use to roam in every section of this forum but now I'm in the gaming section 80% of the time kicking up a strom with the regulars & newbs.
This place wouldn't be the same without them....although we get on each other nerves and headbut each other its still a blast.

Bless

I <3 macrumors, especially the demi forums... except when my big mean husband forgets to sort out the paypal accounts and lets my membership lapse! http://upc.*************/uploads/smilies/daboot.gif

No clue... or, well, I guess with like a lot of other things, it's the people here that makes me come back.
I love reading the posts of some of the regulars here.

Initially...the rumours about some amazing IBM chip called the PPC 970 or something. (To be honest, I think the speculation leading up to the G5 introduction was the most amazing to date...Apple's product specs caught everyone off guard, one upping even the rumors!).

Now...habit keeps me around here. My fingers are too conditioned typing m a c r u m o r s . c o m that I wind up here before I know what I'm doing on the internets.
