Now that Apple Comptuer Inc. changed their Name wouldn't it be logical for MacRumors to change it's name to Apple Rumors? I think about half of the Rumors is about iPod, iPhone etc. anyway and not about the Mac. And of cause you already own the Domain www.applerumors.com :)

I can't say I didn't think of it at the time. :)

Obviously, you'd lose part of the identity that comes with the name... so, for that reason alone, we won't switch.

But, certainly Apple Rumors describes this site more accurately than Mac Rumors.

Apple Rumours doesn't sound nearly as good when spoken, but I guess that's not really a problem for an internet forum.

ya, I think mostly it would be of benefit for non Mac people (ipod, iphone people) to be able to identify the site topic more easily... because if they type in "apple rumors" in google, we're on top anyhow.

but like I said, no real chance of a change

I suppose it could be changed from MacRumors to MacRumours to make all the Britts and Aussies happy.

Brits - single "t" ;)

And what, loose our smug sense of superiority over the fact our American cousins can't spell? Nah, stick with MacRumors :p :D

If a business changes it's name it has to look at what it took to build their current brand. If there is a site that is known for it's name or brand then it's not a great idea to change it. Apple's change wasn't enough to screw with their personal brand as they didn't drop the Apple they just dropped the computer.
I wouldn't change an established brand unless I was certain the alternative was indeed a better move.
