and of course it's raining. guess i can always run on the treadmill.
twoodcc, i'm sure you got some of this rain too.
But it's supposed to be 70 degrees here tomorrow, so that will be good for a run.

hah haha cute
Well I'm going to remain dead last. My surgery to fix the surgery disaster of 12-1 went ok but there is more pain and more stitches so....no running or even long periods of walking for me. But hey, someone needs to be the ass of the train so why can't it be me?

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it heals properly so you can join us again.

i'm very sorry to hear that. i hope everything goes well for you. it's good to see that you seem optimistic though

Just finished another 5k and Lance Armstrong congratulated me for it being my new PB. I thought that was kind of neat.

Nike+ still isn't working too hot for me though..

congrats! keep it up :)

is there a limit to how many workouts you can hold on your ipod? like after a certain amount of time or workouts then you're personal bests get cleared? mine was cleared like 2 days ago. anyone else have this problem?

No problems as far as that was concerned (losing personal best info). Had server connect errors on the Nike site, when trying to upload 4 stored runs from iPod. Had to go into the iPod and correct the out of sync issue where the number of runs on the iPod was larger than on the nike site.

Also had another stage thing happen today where it did not upload the run with the server error, but the mileage was credited to the goal. Corrected the run and uploaded again and thankfully (depending on perspective) it did not pad the goal mileage.

Had the same thing happen w/the server error three times now. But it always uploads properly after a disconnect and reconnect w/o padding the goal amount. (And I'd agree it's thankfully :p Though I'm feeling quite a bit less lazy right now than usual, haha).

It'd be nice to have a lot more control of the data on the nano. I assume that after many runs the space it takes up won't be too bad, but at the same time...

i'm thinking that if you run out of space, it clears them out. either that, or mine messed up somehow. my personal best is fine on the nike website, but not on my nano though

Huh...that's really weird. Very disconcerting when you see Nike give error messages that say oh don't worry, it's all on your nano anyways and then your nano does something like that.

i believe i read in the fine print that your nano will hold your last 99 workouts, so shouldn't be too much worry there.

hopefully nike gets their ass in gear on site upgrades

yeah, so when you get to 100 workouts, you lose all 99 and starts over at 1. it should just delete the first workout and so you'd always have 99, instead of starting over.

and the site is still messed up. now i have to log in when i click 'visit' after connecting my ipod

I don't think I'd want to keep 99 workouts on my iPod anyway - you'd have a hard time remembering any of them.

I went on the nike+ discussion boards to see if there were any comments/solutions in the works for the site and I got tired of looking. They have a bunch of threads and "what nike needs to do" and its all members voicing their opinion. No sign of Official Nike people. Bleh

If anyone else goes there and finds something more specific, post it.

D

I posted in the January thread too, but wanted to get it in this thread as well...

The challenge widget is now working!

Grumble grumble

How frustrating.
My Nano is not being recognised by iTunes any more. So I can't upload all my running data for January. Sod it.
The apple support forum says to reset my ipod, which is just fantastic, because then I lose the nikeplus data altogether, not to mention a few hard-fought PBs.
So don't scratch my ass from the next challenge, I'm out there, I'll be back.
Unless some genius has a better idea before I reset the little beasty.

------------
Edit: Hold the phone, I'm back. Got some help and saved some of the data at least.

Now I just got so excited I went out and bought Hamish Carter's Nikeplus workout: Improve your endurance.
Now theres a recommendation, for sure.
Look out top 10.

So when I bought the Nike+ kit to go with my nano I started up a running program (I'm a golfer, I've never consistently jogged before) going off of Flowbee's recommended beginner's workout. Increments of running+walking, gradually weaning off of the walking up to 30 minutes continuous running. Today was my last day before the 30 minute workout, so we'll see how that goes on Monday.

The nike+ kit and the MR challenge has been great to keep me going. I just passed a cumulative 50 miles run since Dec. 8th when I purchased it, and I expect the 100 mile mark to follow pretty quickly. It certainly wouldn't have happened without the new kit.

Thanks everyone!

Well you're doing pretty good this month. Keep up the hard work. I just started running 5k on the treadmill with no walk break a couple weeks ago. It feels a heck of a lot better.
