Congratulations to the MacRumors community for reaching the 400,000-thread milestone. And extra special congratulations go out to Blue Velvet for posting the landmark thread.

The milestone comes 230 days after Thread #300,000, a substantial increase in thread-posting speed from the 350-day interval for the previous 100,000 threads.

(Discussion of the 300,000-thread milestone took place in this thread and discussion of the 200,000-thread milestone took place in this thread.)

The interval between threads 100,000 and 200,000 was 522 days, while it took 1333 days to reach the first 100,000 milestone.

Note that the statistics on the front page of the forums reflect a smaller number of threads for a variety of reasons, including deleted threads, merged threads, etc.

    Oh yay! Go me! :D

Sneaky WildCowboy hid that from all of us, I had no idea. Pity the thread wasn't better news.

Is that enough milestones to deserve a graph? ;)

Congratulations to the team at MacRumors! I'm just glad the 400,000th thread wasn't about iPhones.

go ahead you can make a graph. And then we can see that a lot of them are just repeats of other threads in the iPhone forums.

Is there going to be a 500,000 thread avatar contest?

The milestones are getting so frequent that we might have to have a daily avatar contest.

Which reminds me (slightly off topic as it may be) who was the poster with post # 5 million? He deserves some just desserts! :)

The 5 millionth post happened to be a useless post deleted by the moderators, so nobody wins points for making that post. Perhaps we'll give the credit to member Spritey, who made post #5000001.

Exactly. If it weren't for some people starting these type of threads. Including really, really dumb question threads duplicated and not found it wouldn't be at 400k.

    Well that's a disappointment. :p

We'll just have to wait for # 6 million (which is probably only 5 months away now).
