6S is where it's at especially if they're changing screen size and resolution. Will take time for apps/services to catch up.

I really hope there are no leaks of the actual device. It ruins all the surprise and suspense during the keynotes. That's why IOS 7 was an awesome surprise even though we knew it would look different. People were selling the gold iPhone 5s and 5c housings for months before they even unveiled it.

I think Apple should take all the money they win from Samsung and use it for all the iPhone 6 development and they can use the tag line iPhone 6, brought to you by Samsung.

A roundup... Ten months early? Seriously?

Yes seriously. I'll agree that endless speculation gets a little old, but this is a very relavent topic for me right now. I usually ask for a bunch of gift cards for birthday and xmas and run will be running to the Apple store early in 2014 to make a purchase. Last year it was a Mac Mini. This year I was prepared to get a 5S, but then I started thinking about an iPad Air. I have an iPhone 4, but I don't have an iPad. I can only get one or the other and there's a certain value to having an off contract phone. By the time I make my purchase the iPhone 5S will have been out for a third of a year.

BTW, the features described so far aren't doing much to make me want to wait for the iPhone 6. Camera improvements? How about base ram of 32GB and new 128GB upper end model? Either of those would do it for me. Hasn't there been a camera improvement on every model? Since when do memory prices stay the same year after year?

If it comes with a screen the size of my nexus 4 I will think about returning, if it keeps the small screen and the feminine form factor of the 5S then I'll pass once again.

The feminine form factor? What are you talking about?!

Am I the only one who is still upset about the naming scheme?

The 5 was the 6th gen phone and the 5c was the 7th. Personally, I think that they should have changed it to just iPhone, like they did with the iPad

this report came in a timely fashion. just as i was thinking of pulling the trigger on an iphone 5s
thanks macrumors.ill wait for my big screen iphone

I hate how big my iPhone 5s screen is... Please don't make it any larger.

I really don't know what to expect from Apple at this stage.

Let me give you some ideas:
  • bigger screen is probably a given- too many bigger screen Androids are selling to ignore the fact that a fairly good size segment probably would choose iOS if they could have the bigger screen
  • I'll be surprised if Apple keeps ignoring wireless charging, but they'll come up with their own standard (ala the Sony strategy) so that everyone has to adapt (and pay Apple patent licensing fees). On a related note, the crowd here will bash the crap out of this idea until Apple seems very likely to roll it out and then it will be the best innovation ever.
  • Apple will innovate the pay-with-your-phone concept further be that passbook or whatever. In other words, Apple will try to take big bite into using a phone in place of a credit card. Again, the Sony strategy requiring mass patent licensing will apply here too.
  • camera will improve
  • even thinner & lighter because Apple has spun that as some kind of meaningful benefit that it can't be stopped until all Apple hardware is paper thin. So, it will get thinner at the expense of any improvement in battery life and then those who need more battery will have to buy a separate piece of hardware (a battery case) to make the combined device thicker to have sufficient battery life.
  • 6c colors will go mainstream colors and probably prove more popular… especially if they get the pricing right (which is not "only $100" off of 6s).
  • more interaction without touching the screen will probably debut per the recent acquisition
  • Apple will take a few good ideas from Android and the crowd here will gush at how those ideas were finally implemented right, call the "but android had this 2 years ago" posters trolls & similar, and then about 2 years later remember them as originally invented by Apple.
  • we'll still be waiting on iWork getting "updates" that brings back the functionality sacrificed with the "re-write".
  • Expect rumors of some "signature software" feature of iOS8 that burns a lot of data. It seems every "next big thing" for iOS updates is a data-hungry app. Why? Because the partnerships with the data toll masters is much too important to not throw them the bone(s) of something else to burn a lot of data, get users to higher tier levels ever quicker, so those users can pay higher tier rates. I think the software innovation the last few years has been very biased to "what else could we create to burn through lots of data?" Think about it.

Well, I would like a larger screen - and I'm sure a lot more people would also. So, to please everybody, I think Apple will make 2 sizes for the iPhone 6; one would keep the current size and the other one will probably be between 5 and 6 inches.

If they will be increasing the screen size, I really hope they will keep the current 4" as well (or even increase it to 4.3").

I would add 802.11ac and 2GB RAM as the likely additions to iPhone 6.

Regarding the screen itself, I seriously doubt Apple would change the pixel density.

Retina iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mini all share the same pixel density for one reason, they are meant to be held with one hand and thus viewed at similar viewing distance (12 inches or less).

My guess is that Apple will again use the home screen as the guide for increasing resolution, while maintaining same 326 pixels per inch density.

To put in a layman's term, home screen will go from 4 by 5 icons (plus 4 icons in the dock) in iPhone 5/5s/5c to 5 by 6 icons (plus 5 icons in the dock). This translates to 800 by 1422 resolution and 5-inch screen.

If it comes with a screen the size of my nexus 4 I will think about returning, if it keeps the small screen and the feminine form factor of the 5S then I'll pass once again.

What's feminine about the form factor exactly?

I don't want my iPhone 6 to creep up to my iPad mini size. I like having two devices.

Meet the super-sized iPhone 6 and enjoy the full-sized iPad Air.

…and, one more thing… introducing the MaxiPad, the biggest iPad we've ever rolled out. Now those who like owning 2 devices with meaningfully different screen sizes but pretty much the exact same functionality can instead buy 3 devices for the very same reasoning! ;)

Unless the new iPhone 6 has a button to turn it into Bar Refaeli I think I'll stick with my 5s for the near future..

Whoa whoa whoa. Calm down! I want to enjoy my iPhone 5C until there's actual news on iP6
