I'm hoping this event is on AppleTV. iPhone 5S should be awesome.

It likely will. It seems Apple is thankfully catching up and making sure their big events are broadcast live to all of their customers who want to see it. It's only fair. They're the world's most valuable company and most of the smaller tech companies do it. With a launch as big as the iPhone, NOT broadcasting it live would be silly.

----------

iWatch seems like it would be crammed in at this or even an Oct. event. I would think a March release would give a great amount of time to let all the other gadgets have their time in the spotlight.

I don't think we'll see an 'iWatch' until mid-late 2014. I don't think it's a product which is ready for the market yet, regardless of what Samsung is doing. Whatever they're doing they're doing it because they think Apple is doing it except Samsung will do it badly.

I still don't understand how you feel that the iPhone and iPad are behind in every category. Provide examples.

The iPhone 5C is a necessary evil to penetrate the Chinese market and to tap the Virgin Mobile/no contract providers market. Folks in those markets have to pay full price for a phone. I could care less about the 5C because I won't be buying it. Plain and simple.

Widgets are of little significance to me but I know many others value them. I have a S3 sitting here collecting dust and the only widget I use is the modern clock. For weather, I have no problem tapping on the Yahoo Weather app and getting detailed info like satellite images and radar feeds. I can also just pull down notification center if need be. Android weather widget you need to make sure its refreshes frequently because you could be looking at old info. Not only that it just drains battery. What's the point? When I want weather info, I want accurate up to date real-time info.

Widgets for settings is another thing that I don't value. I leave Wifi and Bluetooth on all day everyday. My iPhone 5 battery can last me all day on a single charge easy. I hop in my car, my phone auto connects to it without me jacking with the phone. Same with Wifi when I enter places. Android has these features because it was a necessity designed to help save battery life. I don't think iOS really needed them because battery life is fantastic but they were added in iOS 7.

This is my short list off the top of my head
1. Better display. Should be 720p display at a minimum (iPad display is about best in class)
2. Should have screen size choice (Apple learned with the iPad and now the Mini oursells the larger screen)
3. Live tiles (they added a live clock in ios7 which is unnecessary, much rather have the temperature)
4. Widgets (partially fixed in ios7, but the user has no choice of widgets). And we have a flashlight on the widget screen. Mindblowing!
5. Camera with the ability to take good (not even looking for great) quality low light shots. I could care less about megapixels.
6. Proper anodization
7. Quick reply for iMessage and texts
8. True multitasking on the iPad (2 programs side by side)
9. Edge to edge display or at least getting rid of the unnecessary top/bottom border on the iPhone)
10. Home button- can we improve this function?
11. A serious competitor to google now, not the joke Apple currently has on ios7

1. Noone is complaining about retina displays on iPhone or iPads. If there are complaints it's not many.

2. Subjective. I think 4" is perfect.

3. Live tiles? Are you serious? You like 2 widgets on Android and you want the iPhone to become Android? Just buy Android.

4. Same as above.

5. iPhone 5S should fix low light.

6. Seems to be just fine on my phone. Most people use a case anyway. Android phones mostly use plastic, so how is this a feature Android wins?

7. I guess. Not an issue for me.

8. Not sure it's really needed especially on a phone. It's on my S3 and never use it. Can you give an example of real world use where this feature would be handy?

9. Looking at my S3 it has the same thing. Not sure what the big deal on this is?

10. What is the problem with the home button the Samsung copied as well?

11. Google responded to Apple's Siri with Google Now. Both are Gimmicks.

Why not do it now? and stop whining
We already know that Apple will never be Android.
Save yourself from grief.

This goes to all whiners here. iPhone 6, iPhone 6S will be the same story. So grab your Android now! You'll feel better. ;)

You set yourself to low for the love of Apple...and yes, I did order yesterday my first Android HTC ONE 64Gb...

Good luck with your world small screen made by Apple :D

----------

Pathetic.

----------

Have you ever tried to write with respect and education?

Do you know how sad is to see an android user spend hours in an apple forum? You all look like so frustrated with your devices.

----------

;-) yes, that must be what android users call innovation.

I love those screens. Whites are like blue

Your expectations are set to low, this is why you still with the world small screen smartphone...Set your expectation higher and you will see that after 4 years of an identical design was the time that we all can get a new redesign with a 4.7-5" screen...
So getting back to you...you are the Pathetic one:D

I don't own an Android and only used one a couple of times. I will probably buy the HTC One after Apple officially announces the 5S.

I like widgets because to me saving 3-4 taps is important. Streamlining your most commonly used features just makes sense. Just like live tiles makes sense. If you are telling me live tiles are a waste of time then I must ask why did Apple add a live clock in ios7 when the clock is always present at the top of the screen?

The iPhone screen is good until you see the S4 screen. The iPad as I said is best in class. True multitasking always makes sense to me. I love the feature on my
MacBook Air.

I just don't know the home button concept. And again this is not a samsung rant against Apple. It's just the way I feel.

I Agree, Apple Missed the Lead from the iPhone 5, no doubt, no argument. But iPads still the best Tablets, Android dont have a real competitor against iPads. I Love My Mac and my iPad too, but I preffer Andrif phones until Apple releases somthing really worthing the upgrade.

The Home Button Isnt an Apple Invention, Apple loses it claim at the patent case agaist samsung, the home button was seen first on some Windows CE devices years before the iPod/iPhone.
