Is anyone else just totally bored by this? I mean really. It'll be the same form factor as the previous model. The only thing that'll be different is iOS.

I'd be more excited by an iPhone with a larger screen.

I'm both an Android and iPhone user, where should I post then?

Stop looking at brands like sports teams, you don't win anything by defending one of them to death! Both Android and iOS have their pros and cons and it's only natural to compare them.

Some people prefer iOS to Android and are only saying that it's time for Apple to move on, mainly on the screen size and that's because they wish they didn't have to buy an Android to get a decent screen. That's why they are posting in an iPhone forum!

And I work with both platforms in my IT job so what. I am not defending any brand, just saying it is annoying when people with nothing to do come to invade a forum bashing and trolling. If you use both devices more power to you.

People should post mature constructive comets or don't post at all. One thing is to say they want a bigger screen, but boments like iPhone suxxx Samsugn Rulezzz, iSheep, iFanboy, Steve Jobs this, etc. are not constructive or mature. It just makes the Android community look bad.

Also I doubt Apple decisions are influenced by a minority in a forum. They probably, like most companies, decide based on current sales of their products and Market research like Garner Group.

Funny how you love Android so much yet you hang out in a Apple forum chirping. Why not chirp in a Samsung or Android forum? Is it because you seek attention?
Oh boy, another one.

What is so difficult to understand. This apparently is shocking news, but some people have Mac's AND own of have exposure to Android phones. Whacky I know, people actually exercise their ability to choose.

A bit, yes. Hardware probably doesn't change so much, but I think iOS update with new UI look is interesting enough. Combined with other new devices, new OS X and possible surprises, it's a good progress and doesn't warrant bashing Apple for lack of innovation.

I'm moving away from the iPhone for the first time too. Been a loyal user since the first iPhone and upgraded to the newest iPhone every year. Just can do it this year with what I have heard so far. I'll give them a chance on the 10th because I am loyal but looks like a very minimal upgrade this year.

Yup.. Same here.. I will give sept 10th a chance but that's it. No new design(screen size) and no more for apple.

Same here.. SOOooo freaking boring.. Why even bother ??

So if the CPU performance doubled on the S4 and it still has lag, does it matter? The iPhone doesn't lag and that is the point. Most people don't care about CPU specs when the phone runs smooth. Again, you are just spouting off marketing banter to support buying an inferior product.

Yes, the S4 is an inferior product. Let me list how:

1. Materials (plastic).
2. Ecosystem.
3. Performance. Yes, the GS4 still lags.

Also, screen size is subjective. Apparently 4" screens are selling like hot cakes for Apple. In fact, you will notice that Google copied with the Nexus 4. You also notice that others in the industry are following suit with reasonable sized screens (Moto X). Yes, having a phone you can use with one hand, battery lasts all day, and fits in your pocket comfortably is still the phone to beat. Oh, and the camera software features on the S4 can be replicated with paid or free apps on iOS if anyone really cares.

Have you ever seen or looked at a nexus 4. It is far bigger than an iphone 4.7 inches. So is Moto X. It will not hurt Apple at all to bump up the screen a bit.

Oh boy, another one that can't put together a coherent sentence. ;)

What is so difficult to understand? That's fine if you own a Mac and Galaxy S4. Why hang out on a Apple site bashing a phone that is not out yet when you could be chirping with like minded folks on a fandroid site? Let me further break it down for you. If you own a Challenger, would you hang out in a Mustang forum? Probably not unless you were a troll.

For anyone who has a iPhone 4s or earlier (or a non smart phone), this is a larger screen. And a significantly faster phone. And 4g LTE.

If you have a iPhone 5 and are looking for revolutionary new hardware in an iPhone 5s to prompt you to upgrade, you are likely a moron.

Only thing that makes me bored is the whining about larger screen. I would hate if Apple just bumped up iPhone to 5" or something like that cause that would mean that they don't believe in what they are doing. They have said that don't think a bigger screen is a good idea under current circumstances (which i agree with 100%) and wouldn't produce a phone with such trade offs. I would love to see them continue the 4" game and and make people realize that's the best option. If or when there will be a break through that allow us to handle bigger screen easy with one hand, that's the time to release such phone but until then, hope not.

How is a larger screen a new form factor? It's the same form just bigger.

This presumes some of these folks have the ability to post in a mature and constructive fashion.

And I work with both platforms in my IT job so what.

If somewhere in Vegas there was a bookie taking bets on this, I would bet that the overwhelming majority of those who are "bored" with the upcoming iPhone 5s or are whining about NFC, touchless gestures, blah blah blah, have never had a real job. And by a real job, I mean a real job. Working as a barista or a sales clerk at a cell phone store doesn't count.

Interesting in the pharmaceutical industry where I work right now you never hear about people complaining about phones or obsessed on which one is better. I have only seen those complains in online forums.

It's interesting reading the posts in here.

Regular iOS fanatics are consistently sticking to there guns calling out anybody that says Android is better. Truth is Android isn't really better then iOS, it's just different. To the fact that people are telling Android users to go to an Android forum and ****, did you maybe think that some of us are here to check the rumors to see if Apple will release something to bring us back to iOS? I meen honestly i switched over to a Note 2 on release from being a long time iphone user, I'm here because I was hoping for rumors of just a larger screen iphone... Lol

Unfortunately it's come to the realization that theres definitely some ignorant people in this world that will buy into anything Apple tells them. Android lags? I don't think so, not since jelly bean....
Iphone screen size is perfect? Not since 2009....

The Note 2 is a beast of a phone and I love it, so Apple should package up a phone that matches it's screen size and call it a day. Bam 20million+ sold.....

I prefer iOS but no need to be ignorant towards Android users who are pointing out the obvious... The iphone definitely lacks in key areas.

I love how all the fandroids are attacking apple for their 'lack of innovation', yet the only advantage they can list out when it comes to android are the same old "customizability, bigger screen" garbage.

Only idiots who fall for samesung's marketing believe that the S4 is not a S3S

The same people who complain about Apple's incremental updates get hard-ons every time a new Android phone comes out with a slightly larger screen or better display or camera. When Apple does that its "incremental"; when other companies do it its "innovation".

So based on your logic, all of the "Apple Lovers" that don't own an Android phone but have GMail accounts should migrate to Fandroid site and start chirping about how much better the iPhone 5 is? Think about it.

You think the Note 2 is better and I laugh at you for thinking that. At the end of the day, it's all subjective. The difference is the fact that you are on a Apple site spewing you miserable taste preferences and I have no interest to do the same on a Fandroid site.

Is it time for an upgrade?? I'm still using my iphone 4. It lags time to time but everything works. Do you think the new iphone will be overkill for my uses??

Basic stuff, check mail, some light games, playing music, etc...

If you are in a LTE area and want faster data speeds, upgrade. If you want a larger screen, upgrade. If you are tired of the lag and want something snappier with newer features like Siri and possibly a fingerprint reader, upgrade.

Next one will have the shape of a triangle, as form seems to be the relevant aspect for you. And old software, as new software doesn't seem to count for you.

Phones, in this era, are just a screen. Making thin, durable and light is the only possible innovation.

Or if you like lag, buy a samsung

Actually, here I disagree.

I think there is a lot of room for real innovation with integration into automobiles. The current integration capabilities in this area are incredibly primitive and at best, are a hack.

From an end user perspective, there is a real opportunity here to get a real "game changing" experience from any of the smart phone vendors.

With regards to the phone itself, there is nothing happening from anyone that is truly innovative. Its all incremental at this point. Despite what the teenagers in the internet would have you believe.

Your talking to the wall my friend... Just shows your ignorance. Not interested in an on going battle with you.

Love my ipad 3 and mac mini nothing better in terms of those categories from any other company out there, but if you meen to tell me your iphone 5 is better the my note 2 you would make more sense going to a fandroid site and spew garbage about gmail.

You sir are the infamous sheep all the fandroids talk about. Get your life together brah

So says the person that for two consecutive posts have misspelled the word "mean" even when the site has a built in spell checker. I digress.

Do you think your Note 2 has sold more than the iPhone 5? Not even close. So if we just looked at sales figures alone as a guide for desired devices, the conclusion would be the iPhone 5 is the more desired device. You still with me? Ok, so that would mean you are in the minority in thinking the Note 2 is a better device. That also means that you are just being a troll coming to this site trying to spout your nonsense to folks that really don't care about your ramblings. Is the Galaxy Note 2 forum empty?

Careful when you argue in the internet with someone who uses the word "brah". You just never know what you are getting yourself into.
