MacRumors now offers two 'on the go' versions of the main news page.

http://wap.macrumors.com offers a WAP/WML based version of the most recent stories for your WAP-enabled cellular phone. Any internal MacRumors.com links in these stories now link to their WAP-equivalents and are denoted by (WAP), so that cell phone users may browse referenced MacRumors stories with ease.

http://mobile.macrumors.com offers a lite version of MacRumors designed for Palms/Windows CE/etc... (and of course any prototype Apple PDAs that may be floating around out there). Again, any internal MacRumors links in this area link to their mobile equivalents.

sorry... no the mobile and wap versions will not be updated for the keynote.

mobile users can hit the regular macrumors page which will be a 'lite' version anyhow during the keynote.

Maybe I should've gotten that 1 meg data plan for my new phone... ;)

And I'm glad I have UNLIMITED data on my new phone! ;)

what timing.. I got an ipaq for xmas!! .. now I dont need to lug my pismo into the .. uh.. you know ;-) .. who is better than Arn???

This is great. Accessing the site on my cell phone used to be a pain. The new WAP site is fantastic!

You can check it on your cell phone, too

You can still check the keynote on your cell.. I have been checking macrumors.com on my T-68i for the past 10 days while on vacation. It's easy, using google's wap gateway:

http://www.466453.com

which lets you enter search queries by simply using the number equivalent of your search term. Enter

622786677 to search for
macrumors

If you bookmark that, you can update it even when it switches to low-bandwidth version. See screenshot, attached.

Another nice improvement! I see the links to http://mobile.macrumors.com and http://wap.macrumors.com at the bottom of the three main pages.

Hey arn, haven't you reached the limit of time and effort you can put into this site!!?? MacRumors, forums, daily polls, Buyer's Guide, MacBytes, DailyTunes, new design, software updates, and now WAP and mobile? Will your expansion projects never end?

arn said that the main site will be switched over to its low bandwidth version during the keynote, so you should be able to use your mobile devices to access keynote info just fine through the main page.

I am such a digicam novice. Point and shoot just doesn't work for me. That pic was the best of 5. I try.

Thanks! Works well on my Treo 270 with GPRS

Arn,

Thank you for the hard work. It looks and works great on my Treo 270 on T-Mobile's GPRS. Good job! Kudos.

Say arn, doesn't the new XHTML/CSS format decrease your bandwidth load. How come you can't keep the full version of the site up during the keynote. Is the bandwidth load during the keynote simply too prohibitive.
