I think the macrumors community is the best on the interwebs.

Shoot, I've just become a member, so I guess I don't qualify to see the marketplace for another six months LOL.

Guess I'll pass as all I wanted from this deal was Scrivener. :(

I purchased the bundle on 9/17, including the $20 MacUpdate desktop option.

The confirmation email stated MacUpdate Desktop "(Will be updated in your account in 24 hours)".

On the 18th I entered in a support request asking when it would show on my account. Received a canned email reply:

Thanks for reaching out to us, your contact form submission was received! Just a heads up, the response to MacUpdate Desktop 6 has been overwhelming and has us running a little behind our usual reply goal (within 24-48 hours). Please bear with us, and rest assured that we read every email and we'll reply to you as soon as possible.

On the 23rd asked about the status of my earlier request. Got the same canned message.

So it now has been 9 days since I paid for the product but have still not received the activation code. There seems no way to actually reach support since they aren't responding to my emails. There is no phone number that I can see on their website.

I'm about to call my credit card company and tell them to ask for a refund since there seems to be no way to contact them.

I am very suspicious of a company that provides no phone number for support and does not respond to support emails.

Blu-ray Drive Needed?

Is the optical drive that came with my late 2011 MacBook Pro sufficient to take advantage of the Blu-ray plug-in option? Or do I need a Blu-ray drive?

Blu-ray is a different hardware from DVD despite similar media and requires a special player (drive). You would need a Blu-ray drive to work with Blu-ray media.

It's an amazing app for any sort of writing.

I'm just starting to learn it for my thesis and private writing. Dang! This software's amazing!

I'm going through the tutorial now and every time I think of something I wish it did...it does it!

The UI could use some modernization, but it's still awesome. :]

Hi HDFan: I just want to make sure that you have received all the licenses by now (and hopefully an answer from our support team). Bundles are always a bit busy for us on the support side, but nothing should take 9 days so I'm wondering if we some how never received your original request. Regardless, please reach out to me directly by email if you are still having any issues whatsoever!

Looks a great bundle... the first in a while from MacUpdate.

Thanks!

----------

I tried to order this last night and after entering my order info, the page showed 'Processing' for over 10 minutes.

Nothing else happened so I just closed out. Anyone else have problems with them?

I hope this issue was only temporary, but if you are still experiencing any problems please email us: support@ macupdate dotcom

Thanks

They should somehow make this available with iTunes credit(I have so much credit from free apple/store promos). Getting another 200$ on iphone release from radio shack. Nothing really that amazing that can't be replaced with free software in the bundle. Netshade is completely useless as they log your information.

To be clear about NetShade's logging: http://www.raynersw.com/about.php

Or, the tl;dr version: They maintain logs for a very limited time (7 days) and have never had to divulge them to anyone (court order). Given that Rayner is a U.S.-based company with a proper Acceptable Use policy, this isn't all that surprising. If you are looking for a solution to mask completely illegal activities online, NetShade is not the one for you.

Very strange. I bought some bundles before and it worked just fine. I didn't buy this one, though.

Grad student here, looking for a Bookends or Scrivener license from anyone who has a spare/unneeded/willing to donate, etc. Please send me a PM.

Saw Misha's response after I had filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully we can resolve the problem so that the complaint can be withdrawn.
