Macworld Banner? Reviewing the iTV

I think it would be great if the iTV offerd much more features than what is expected right now. I'd like it to be a full fledged Media Center thingmabob. Especially when you look at the updated Xbox which is becoming more of a media center.

Holy Cow Sh**! That banner is the worst photoshop job I have ever seen.
However the location shot is great. I would love to ride that fabulous elevator. It appears to defy the laws of physics, does anyone know where it's at?
Living in the Bay Area, I can confirm that that is indeed Moscone South. I haven't been by to check out the banner, but the escalators and lobby configuration are genuine. So, I'm going to vote for legitimate on the banner image.

I think those concerned with the photoshopping qualities are maybe not hip to the elevator significance. Anywho, thanks for posting.

the 'itv' would be killer if it had a tivo/dvr recorder. Without...I just don't like the idea. Why the hell do I want to stream horribly low quality iTunes video to my HD TV? And pictures? Music? I just don't see the need. I would buy it without thinking if it had a tivo like feature, but without it, it seems like one of the more stupid products Apple has released.

Well done, you have the distinction of being the first person to make me laugh on these forums in nearly 4 years. Regardless of the poor photoshoping involved, I got the joke/parody.
Anyway, with regard to the iTV product, I'm interested in its form factor and how its related to the Mac Mini.
But you're missing the point. Your Mac is the Media Center. iTV is simple a device to allow all your media on your Mac to be displayed. The last thing Apple is going to do is build the iTV into another computer when we all have our Macs already. Keep the iTV as simple as possible to wirelessly display all your content on the TV. Then, if they add full Media Center capabilities into the Mac that would be OK. However, aren't we trying to move form the model where we all have to wait for a broadcast time, setup our devices to record it, store it, and then watch it when we want, to a model where we get anything we want on demand over the internet ? I think Apple will move us away from TiVO and Media Centers as we know it to getting content from the internet (or owned media) any time we want with it all managed on our Mac, displayed on your TV, iPod, or computer anywhere you want it.
Just so you know my elevator illustration up was supposed to look really low quality, nor did I want to spend over 40 seconds on it.

My point really was that we need full Media Center capabilities. Be in the form of a new Media Center machine or as software on your Mac.

I don't really believe in a pay per view or paid VOD service TBH. From a consumer point of view VOD looks very expensive. Let's say every episode of a certain show costs you $1. A cable subscription costs you $20 (mine is 120/year, digital cable) you can watch 20 episodes a month. That's IT. Watch more than that and it starts costing a lot more.
The problem with VOD is that it only works for certain markets/demographics.
