I predict that Apple will announced iLife '07 at MWSF '08, since they missed their chance at MWSF '07.

And if I'm right, I'll eat my hat.

San Francisco MacWorld Expo Has Been Every January Since 1985

This is as bad as Xmas music starting at Labor Day. If I let you guys start me thinking about MacWorld 2008 this early I would end up going crazy. When I lived in San Francisco (1985-90) I wish there had been Macworld conventions, now it takes all my strength to keep from going (I now live in Georgia) so I can use the saved money to by the expensive toys being introduced there. I'm due for a notebook next year.
There have been MacWorld Conventions in San Francisco every January since 1985. So you could have attended one every year you were there if you had paid attention.

Hmm, so the cheapest way to see the keynote is $295, correct? This would be fun to go to, but that's quite a bit of $$.

Ok I got my free pass for the exhibit but not the keynote but I realize that Hotels around the area is freaking expensive for my budget. Anyone has some information or recommendations of cheap hotels. Average hotels I was recommended is 600 for the 5 business days(just as estimate how much the trip will cost).

Anyway I am very eager to attend, wonder if I have family over there.

Any information on deals may help.

I stayed at the Ramada Plaza on Market Street which I think with AAA was less then $100 a night. Probably a 20 minute walk to the Moscone Center.

You mean in person? Otherwise it's only true if you don't count watching it streamed after the fact.

Bump. It's been since 2004 and they haven't had a major update, they're well overdue...

If you mean the Cinema Displays, there have been a few stealth updates, they increased the brightness, contrast ratio and response time at least once for each size since the new design.

I think the designs are still fine, though Apple might try to make it look more like iMac. A built-in camera would be nice, but I'd prefer they use a nice camera rather than a phone camera.

Mac Pro needs some love. Maybe the rest of the guts will catch up to the processor. New cinema displays would be nice as well.

Mac Pro can be updated at some pro expo. There are some exceptions, but Apple usually doesn't update their pro hardware at a consumer expo, consumer expos usually have consumer product updates instead.
