Objectively they’re seeing fewer users than before the change, but that could also be due to the machinations of the owner. 🙂 But, any OTHER IP where the branding is valuable (not toxic, like Phillip Morris or Facebook) and the owner is trying to maintain profitability, you’ll see plenty of names far older than Madden. They likely won’t change the name unless Madden becomes similarly toxic. But, as he’s dead, there’s not much opportunity for him to do anything outrageously toxic. I reckon his kids or kid’s kids might do something, but there’s likely a financial incentive (like millions a year) for them to not tarnish the name.For your information, Twitter has been renamed X a while back, and it doesn't seem to have affected its popularity. There are many other examples of businesses or products that successfully changed their name to modernize their image or for other business reasons.
