Hope you like them.

Thanks, nice to hear you like it!
I don't know that much about the Macintosh, but based on Wikipedia articles I think it is a Macintosh Plus.
The lightbulb in the first one is the Apple Newton logo.

My wallpaper. I'm a big anime fan I have a preverbial TON of images. Just settled on this one... for now. Also made a template file doing my best guess at where all the UI elements are I can upload (.PSD) or just the .png with 50% transparency. Or, from my measurements it's 20 (info header) + 95 pixels (date and time) at the top and 95 pixels (slider bar) from the bottom.

FYI, this is Tifa from final fantasy 7: advent children.

Few more that I made:

This one is actually cool because Mac OS on the phone somehow knows how to allow the black line on top of the happy mac to overlap the shaded clock portion.

Sorry to disappoint, the iphone isn't that smart. at least I don't think...

What you're seeing is an optical illusion of sorts. The black line is indeed under the shaded portion (you can see the tiny border at the bottom of the bar) but since it's black underneath grey, you can't make black darker. So that, coupled with how it's done the line has a slight dropshadow to it so it looks like it's elevated. Youre eye's then carry that illusion of it being elevated over to the shaded portion, so it looks like it's floating above that as well.

It was probably a complete accident, but ended up with a really cool effect

Ahhhhh. You're right. Nice spotting that out.

Most of these seem to lose a lot of quality when loading it into iPhoto to sync with the iPhone. The end results look very grainy.

The picture of the grass looks really really nice though, thats what I have on my iPhone now :D

Made this for my G5, then my Powerbook, then for my Nokia, and now my iPhone.

Yeah, the iphone "optimizes" images for the iphone. So after panning and zooming in it gets really grainy because it's not at the same resolution as the original image. That background I made was originally from a wallpaper size image and it seems like it should look better. So I just created it at the dimensions I wanted it and when i hit set wallpaper I don't have to pan or zoom in at all. I have tried too many but the ones that are already in the 320x480 resolution I haven't had problems with. Maybe try converting it to a png file first? will probably make the file bigger and it may just get reconverted to a jpg during the "optimization" process. At any rate, i took a picture of it with the zoomed in one and the one I created initially at the proper size and you can easily notice the difference. Tifa's eyes had more brown in them, the hair was finer, etc.

So I guess the moral of the story, get it to the size you want before you import it and that may help with the grainyness.
