If you have concerns about the trackpad, I would avoid it, and while the magic mouse is a good mouse, for the price you can get better. I only use mine as a backup when my logitech mx revolution is charging. Consider looking at other mice from brands like logitech and razer.

Input devices are very much a matter of personal preference. I also have a Logitech MX Revolution, but greatly prefer the Magic Mouse.

What about for gaming like World of Warcraft, im in the market for a mouse/track pad for my 2008 MacBook to start playing a WOW 3 mod called DOTA. What would fit this better?

Using the mouse is always better for games because it is more accurate, and when playing WoW you definitely need the mouse for camera movement and stuff, using a trackpad for that is too jumpy and not fun. There are very few games that a trackpad works well with.

Also the magic mouse is not very good for gaming either in my opinion because it's not as fast in terms of buttons. What happens when you want to press both left and right buttons at the same time? Or middle click? Again, it only works well for specific types of gaming.

I haven't, yet, fell in love with the Magic Trackpad. Even on a laptop, I need a mouse. I simply don't enjoy not having the liberty of move the magic mouse offers.

I'm loving the trackpad with my iMac, I haven't touched my Magic Mouse since I got it.

I can't imagine using it for gaming though, but I game on a Windows box with a Razr Orochi gaming mouse.
