Haha I knew it! :D

In all seriousness though, an attached combination wouldn't be as appealing for me. Reminds me of those horrible keyboards with a mouse built in.

I like the two seperate, I like being able to slide them together when I don't use them, but I feel like it would be too cramped to have them connected.
I think apple should sell a kit with a magic mouse, keyboard, magic trackpad, and the battery charger for like $200 :D

How about sticking magnets under both the keyboard and trackpad?

That way they stick together but you can also pop them apart when you want.

i think i might do that when i get eventually get my trackpad. but aren't you not supposed to put magnets near computers or something?

Am I the only one who prefers the two products separate and not perfectly alinged?

nope- i do too :p

i have a wired keyboard though and the trackpad, so they don't aline properly, but i really don't care...i don't need a unwired keyboard, so i'm not going to fork out and buy on for aesthetics.

also- by sticking the keyboard and trackpad together, are you making it really difficult to change the batteries on the trackpad?...

Tape isn't that hard to replace, but yeah.

I tend to move my keyboard around a lot which is why I switched to the wireless Apple board, so keeping them separate is preferable to me. I love the trackpad, by the way. Very cool.

I'm waiting for a company to come up with a thin and light case that holds both in place next to each other, making the keyboard + trackpad combo suitable for couch use. I've been waiting for a very long time for something like this, and it's disappointing that Apple hasn't yet considered this demographic (something they should really target given their new Mac Mini). Or if some enterprising DIYer managed to attach them simply and sturdily and posted directions, that would be great too.

I wish they'd make it snappable. I'm lefty and I noticed that I like the trackpade a little further from the keyboard than you have pictured.

Looks nice, but the ability to position it independent of the keyboard is nice, if not necessary for many. I place mind angled from the keyboard, as that is what feels the most natural to me. Basically, from an ergonomics standpoint, it far better to allow for individual positioning of the pad. And, I'm in the prefer the physical click crowd, which as noted this would create problem.

clicky feet, not good. I was gonna get this next month for my htpc.
sounds like it won't work well in my lap. And the tap to click is too annoying to use, too many accidental clicks.

I think i'm gonna try the magnet thing though. sounds like a good idea as long as the magnets are strong enough and the kb/tp are shielded (are they?)

They should be modular, along with a matching numeric keypad. So you can put the 3 elements (trackpad+keypad+keyboard) in any order you want. And a little play in the connector for the clicky feet to work.
