I'm okay with "magic", but not "magical" for some reason. It sounds a bit 'kiddie'. Of course, maybe that's the plan - to get all the six year olds whining for one at Christmas :)

That said, "Magical Mystery Tour" is fine. But that was a different Apple.

I swear, I though Steve was being ironic when he used that term "Magical" to describe the iPad right as this picture was displayed on the screen behind them.

But apparently, he was being serious, and now is using "Magical" to describe almost everything that Apple announces.

I guess I consider the original iPhone OS "Magical." It was pretty damn impressive three years ago. But taking that same OS and sticking it in a bigger screen three years later doesn't make the device magic. Most of that original "magic" faded away over those three years.

In the same way I would say the very first Macinstosh in the 80's was Magical when it first came out, but nowadays, it would be found in a junkyard.

If there's any current computer that I could possibly see myself calling "Magical." It would be this...

Primarily because of many of the innovations described here...

And also because it is comparable to the Macbook Air in terms of portability and size and yet outperforms 99% of the high end Desktops out there all while getting a ridiculously long battery life (considering it's performance and the size of it's battery).

So until Apple comes out with something that seems like that kind of a leap forward technologically, I hope they stop using the word "Magical."

I am actually surprised with these results. It appears that an outstanding number of users think that "Magic" is not the word to use.

For some reason I don't mind it at all with accessories like the Magic Mouse and maybe even a Magic Trackpad. But using it to describe products is a completely different story.

i really don't care. BUT, saying that the iPad is magical is a HUGE stretch. that annoys me a little every time i see it on their homepage. the first ipod touch wasn't magical, touch screens existed before that, they just weren't as good. the ipad didn't do anything magical other than hitting it with an enlargement beam.

but thats all. call it the magic mouse, magic trackpad, whatever; idc...

Ha! On Sony's website, their tagline is now "make.believe". So perhaps all consumer electronics companies are just going through a "magical, mysterious, make believe" phase right now. :)

Much like the numerous fast food joints harping on about how "zesty" their stuff was a few years back. It bugged the hell out of me ;)

Dell also has that whole "life without walls", "your world where you want it", and "treat yourself" catch phrases going on. Those don't bug me, just saying they are on the same imagination and fun mindset.

Maybe they are trying to "come out" and admit that the "Apple experience" is just illusions and cheap tricks? :D
