I got mine today. I’m surprised at the weight of it, in fact a little disappointed at how heavy it is. The big test will be just daily use and if I get use to it. I have always had the battery cases on my iPhones.
it can only be charged by lightning cable, this I don’t understand. It does charge the airpod pros I have. I haven’t tried my watch series 6 but I doubt it does charge that.
the magnetism of it is great, very strong and doesn’t really move.
The white colour of it is more like the old school MacBooks so doesn’t colour match with the white silicone apple case (the case is more of an off white that I noticed when you attach the pack).
also to note that ios15 beta 3 has not been updated to recognise the pack, it comes up as “generic UPS” as you can see from the photos.
happy to give some more feedback after a week of use. I’m lastly disappointed that I can’t use a qi charger for it but it can be used as a qi charger at hoke and just attached when you leave the house in need.
Surprised the color doesn’t match better, or that there isn’t a black version available.

I wonder if there will be a rev. 2 of this batter pack. I don't quite like the color. When attached to the iPhone 12 Pro, it looks a bit odd because of the size. It seems to blend well with the iPhone 12 mini with the bottom and sides being flush.

If they were to make a rev. 2, I'd like to see the following improvements:
- comes in different colours
- one that is physically sized for iPhone 12 Pro so it doesn't look so odd when attached
- able to be charged by Magsafe charger

That said, I doubt any of these would make it to rev. 2, if there will be a rev. 2. :(

Well I take back what I said in the other thread - it IS surprisingly thick! In the photos I thought it looked about the same thickness as the phone but I’d say It’s actually about 30% thicker.

The magnetic attachment is indeed very strong, but it does easily twist out of perfect alignment (aesthetically I mean; it’s still aligned right for optimal charging).

Can anyone check if the pack charges wirelessly as well, seems that the light turns on but nothing else happens. A sham when it is able to be reverse wireless charged from the phone.
why do I need a cable just for this, so much for wire-free. A step back from the smart battery case

Rev 2 will be made for iPhone 13 or 14, and probably won't be compatible (or crippled) with current 12 series.

That is a lot of packaging

btw it is not possible to use HEIC images here
That’s nothing, a few months ago Best Buy sent me this box for a USB C cable

Looking forward to seeing how other forum members like this. I'm interested, but $99 is a tough sell for me when there are less expensive options with more power.
There is always 'less expensive options' out there. The key is:

Does the feature spec match up?
Does the less expensive option provide what they claim?
does the less expensive option do what is claimed by themselves or with Apple's competing product?

Can you charge the phone and battery pack attached with a MagSafe charger??
No but with the 20w brick or higher and a lightning cable the battery pack can act as a mag safe charger basically charging both through the battery pack

I haven't found it mentioned explicilty, so I imagine not, but...

Has anyone tried to use a cable to get power from the Battery Pack to an iPad (Pro)? Given that iPads Pro can charge iPhones with a C-to-Lightning, seems logical to allow this battery pack to give some juice to an iPad the other direction. Fingers crossed, because that would easily make it worth the dough for me.

Otherwise, I'll just stick with my Courant:Carry, which has been great so far just no magnet attachment.

Yes, yes, and yes in the case of Anker and Mophie.

Just an FYI: iOS 15 beta 3 does not support it yet. Hopefully beta 4 will be released soon…

Do you just mean you don't get the MagSafe animation? That seems odds it wouldn't charge because of a beta software.

It charges when it wants to, it does like the old battery cases did where it will keep cutting on and off until it stays on or off. And it shows as a lightning cord image on the battery widget. I reported to Apple already. It wants to charge but will only show it is sometimes. And I actually haven't seen my battery percentage go up at all. The case says 100% but my phone battery stayed at 71% after 1 hour of keeping the case on. It may literally need whatever support Apple put in iOS 14.7 which is not in 15 beta 3.

Does it function as advertised when the phone is inside a silicone MagSafe case?
Yes, all good with Apple cases. I used mine on my iPhone 12 Mini with an Apple leather case. I like the material, it resembles a less grippy silicone case, a bit rubbery. Performance is Mickey Mouse, returned mine after a day. Not worth the £99! My phone was discharging just while browsing the internet with the battery attached to it. IOS integration is great but charge capacity, speed and power output are silly for the price they charge. Wanted to love it, it looks and feels great, but doesn’t work as a battery :(
