Taken mine out of the box for a look. It’s heavier then I expected which is good. Very solidly built and the silicone has a nice feel to it. It feels like a typically quality built Apple accessory but then again it should be at that price

Since I requested a hold for pick up at the UPS Store, it got delivered today at the UPS Store ready for pick up and picked it up during my lunch break.

Very happy with mine. Very pricey but it’s great to finally have a wireless charger where I know it’s alligned correctly and know there’s no Chance of me knocking it off charge in the night

Duo is so compact as well and love how it doesn’t take up hardly any space

All of this.

I was on the fence but glad I purchased.

It’s overpriced, shameful that it doesn’t come with an adapter, and it’s lame that it can’t even get up to a full 15W.

Other than that, I ordered one and can’t wait 😂
Frankly speaking, what's the substitute for MagSafe Duo which delivers 14W wireless charging speed at $129? All the duo-trio wireless chargers only deliver 7.5W. Imagine spending $100-$150 for 7.5W charging speed, that's overpriced!

I agree. Would buy again.

And the Apple Watch feels easier to handle with this charger too, since it doesn't move around.

I’m very happy with mine. It lacks a brick? Yes. It’s a little bit overpriced? Maybe. But it works great and I love how portable it is.

It may not charge three devices at the same time like the new Belkin charger but it’s so discreet and portable. I just love it

Without a doubt, I have my other MagSafe next to it for when I need to charge my air pods which isn’t every night anyway

Will only need charging every 3-4 days really if not longer

I've been using a regular Qi wireless charger and a few times now I've found that I haven't placed my iPhone 12 Pro Max correctly and it didn't charge overnight. So, today, I went to the Apple store and picked up one. Hopefully this will ensure the phone is on correctly with the magnet. Never had the same issue with my 11 Pro Max and not sure why with the 12 Pro Max, I suddenly have missed charging on the old wireless pad.

I'm spending lots of time travelling for work at the moment in a different town. I've missed the spot on my Anker pad - and woken to a dead or not-charged phone. No idea why - it was charging when I went to sleep but I guess it's easy to shift. I have the pad that has the pop up watch puck too and hooked to a 45W USB charger.

I went to get the MagSafe Duo today - and it's great. I was actually surprised how firm the magnetic hold is. I dont think this is a bad thing. I'd rather know the phone is located and stuck properly. Sure you can lift the whole thing up but why would you do this? just slide off the phone or put your fingers on the side to keep it from lifting and lift gently.

the apple store guy actually suggested a metal plate on the table to stick it to. I know Ikea have desk pads that have this but I really think as a travel charger it's great. Yup - totally overpriced but f**k it - we're in a pandemic and it's Xmas so I got myself a treat.

True, but you also have to spend extra money to get a 27W or higher adapter if you don't have one to get the full charge. Raises the entry price for the full benefit.

Sure but there are many 30W chargers that do not cost $49. RavPower & Aukey are priced between $15-$20. Also, there are wireless chargers that cost $150 above too and give only 7.5W - 10W charging speed.

I'm not trying to justify MagSafe Duo pricing but the way people are reacting to the price is as if they don't know the prices of other wireless chargers at all. Wireless chargers are expensive and people need to deal with that unless and until it becomes cheap.

Hmm the 14.3 update mentions a fix for MagSafe Duo charging level? Maybe it does charge at 15W after all...

My Mini is limited to 12W anyway... ;)

Not that i need it to be any faster, since i only charge at night...

Or maybe prior to the update it wasn't reaching the full 14W that it is designed to output when connected to a 27W or higher USB C power adaptor?

I honestly loved MagSage Duo. Lots of articles (Engadget/The Verge etc) have called it overpriced but I think it's very well priced when you compare it with other top wireless chargers.

One of the beauties of MagSafe Duo is how easy it is to carry. I only wish it could charge AirPods Pro at the same time but that's about it. I travel a lot and I carry 1 adaptor for iPhone and 2nd adaptor for Apple Watch and 3rd adaptor for iPad Pro. Then I have a charging cable for my Marshall wireless speaker. Since I plug 4 adaptors, I carry extensions along too.

If I buy a MagSafe duo, I just have to carry 1 adaptor & 2 wries which can charge iPhone 12 Pro Max, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch Series 4 & iPad Pro (2019), and 1 charging cable for Marshall wireless speaker. Instead of carrying an extension, I can even get a multi-charging travel plug.

P.S - Yes I can skip carrying adaptor for Apple Watch Series 4 but then currently I have to charge iPhone XS Max & AirPods Pro and then Apple Watch charging turn comes which takes your attention 3 times and when you're on a holiday, you tend to miss out. That's why I wish, Apple had come up with 3 devices charging but since AirPods Pro has good battery life, it's not a big deal.

----

P.S - I'm currently using iPhone XS Max. My iPhone 12 Pro Max is in the US which will come to India soon.
