I have had the MagSafe wallet for about a month now and I’m loving it!
Honestly it’s not a bad product. Could it be stronger? Yes. But does it work? Yes it does.
I know there’s a thread for wallet orders but I want to see some pictures on different cases ( especially on the red leather case...) and hear some real use cases of what people think so far.

Do you have an animation issue with the wallet stacked on a official magsafe case? I have a black wallet and with bare iphone, the animation pops up when screen is off. Animation also happens with the official clear case or leather case. However with the official clear case loaded, if I put the wallet, I get no animation, no chime and only chimes when the wallet is taken off the clear case. Magsafe charger stacked on clear case works well and has the animation as well. Does that no animation bug when the wallet is stacked with the official clear/leather case happen to you?

I am on iOS 14.3 and I’ve used both the White silicone case and the Black leather case switching between the two as far as the animation goes I’ve never had issue and I put the wallet on in the morning and take it off at night when I return home from work. I had the clear case for a few days as well before the finger prints drove me nuts and it worked fine with that case as well. These were all purchased straight from the Apple store in person. I have heard of some Amazon cases having issues. As far as fit for the cases the corners have not popped of either and I wear tight pants and typically put it in my back pocket while at the store.

i am keen to genuinely ask what is your motivation to walk with a wallet magnetically attached to your phone as opposed to something more secure in the form of perhaps a "traditional wallet case" or a conventional wallet safely tucked in your other pocket

I’ve had many wallet cases ever since they became a thing. I’ve tried stick on wallet which were ok but they would stretch out over time. I’ve had the Mujjo leather card case which is what I’d probably use again if not for MagSafe. I’ve used the Pop wallet from Popsocket which I also love! I also used the Spigen card case and I loved the older version of that as well so I’m well versed in the wallet case / card holder systems.

Honestly it was just something new that seemed like a cool idea and it worked for me. I also want to use a charging MagSafe car mount once Belkin releases it. My use case isn’t extreme ( I put it on put it on my car mount drive to work where it stays in a cabinet all day and then do the same and take it off , maybe go to the store every few days) and it’s nice to have a slim case that just works well. The Apple cases are always what I attached my wallets to in the past so I just bought the MagSafe wallet and it kept it slim while still looking good.

Ok thanks

My reason for going this route was wireless charging it‘s so convenient to take your wallet off and throw the phone on the charger . I’m still a bit skeptical I’ve already dropped the wallet when pulling my phone out of my pocket.

Thought about picking one up but realise I would use it once a month to get petrol and that’s it

Yeah ,I’m in the USA where we can’t get our license digital so I still have to carry that around and then Apple Pay isn’t accepted at every place yet so I also carry a debit card so even with going limited places I still drive to work so that’s why I picked one up.

I like mine also after being unsure at first. I don’t always have it attached to my phone, but it does spend a decent chunk attached. I’ve found it grips just fine too.

It forced me to drop from 6 cards down to 2. Now just carrying a license and a debit card on the off chance I need to withdraw from an ATM that doesn’t support cardless withdrawals. Been wanting to slim down what I carry anyway and I’d been looking at a small form factor sleeve anyway, so this ticked that box. Occasionally I’ve missed the extra space, but only two or three times for short periods.

Changed from the old billfold wallet a few years ago to just a card case and loved the reduction in size.

Seen the Magsafe wallet and watched the reviews and at first thought nah, overpriced and the magnets aren't that good, but then being an Apple devotee got the itch and ordered one on Saturday as they're finally back in stock.

And I love it, all the reviews about it slipping off to easy are nonsense, albeit I've got the Apple Leather case on my phone but it takes a fair amount of pressure to slide it off, I'm wondering if Apple changed the magnet strength since the initial reviews hence the gap in stock🤔

I only need 3 cards with me at any one time so this is perfect plus if it's stuck on my phone less chance I'll forget it, an old problem, never left my phone at home but my wallet...

The build quality is excellent, is it worth the price? well that's down to personal preference I've bought card holders at twice the price in the past so the additional features make this well worth it.

Big fan of the product, meh about the price, overall a good buy. Barely keep it snapped to the phone lol.

lol I feel the exact same I've had it for 2 weeks and snapped it on twice. If the was $30 I would feel a little better ! Hopefully this will continue to fit future iPhones.

I just got the saddle brown in the mail from Apple after waiting about 3 weeks.

I rarely use cards since I use mostly Apple Pay, but sometimes I need to use my debit card and license. I usually keep them clipped together in my car console (not very secure, I know).

It does not slip off of my iPhone 12 Mini with no case. It helps give some grip when going caseless, so that is nice. I also have a white Apple silicone case. It also does not slip at all on the case. The magnet with or without the case seems very strong. I am also thinking they strengthened the magnets with the latest shipment that was on hold for so long.

The only thing that has me questioning how much I’d use it is how much thickness it obviously adds to the phone. One you put this on (especially with a case), your phone feels like a brick. I know I can take it off at anytime, but just trying to imagine how much I would actually have it on my phone. I may just end up leaving it in my car like I did before. I will have to just use it, and see how it flows into my lifestyle. I am also wondering if I am going to go caseless with the wallet. I like that feel a lot better.

Anyone try the wallet with third-party cases? I'd assume thinner non-MagSafe cases *might* still work, but with a weaker attachment?

similar thoughts. I Use it caseless. Phone feels ugh with a case. I don’t keep it snapped on a lot actually. With the rain and snow, my wallet is in another pocket and I’m free to get the phone wet. Snap it when I’m keeping them in one pocket.
last phone I used the leather cases and had to be careful around water. This system is way better.

I have used it with all first party cases and it works perfectly. I have tried it with the Otterbox Figura ( with MagSafe built in)and it is not a very strong connection especially for $40. Then I saw on these threads the Spigen Mag Armour on Amazon for $18 (now $22) I bought it not having high hopes and it actually sticks incredibly well! So I know those are great options. If anyone else knows of any third party cases that the wallet works with let me know.
For now I’m swapping between the classics black leather and white silicone. (With the black wallet )

I’m really liking how the wallet feels on the caseless iPhone Mini. This might be my go to set up.

Also the way the wallet just cradles in your hand in the caseless iPhone 12 Mini just feels nice. I think the saddle brown is going to patina so nice.

That’s the color I want next. Currently using the black wallet with black leather case on a graphite 12 pro.Picking up the product red leather case tomorrow so the black should go nicely with that combo as well.
But that saddle brown after Christmas I’m definitely picking it up!

I really am yet to see the point of this product if I am honest. The cards I use regularly are on Apple Pay anyway, therefore I don’t need to carry them on the iPhone as well? The fact this wallet is an eye watering £59 also makes me choke out loud further on my bewilderment of its existence.

The fact you have to detach it from the back of the iPhone and fumble to get the cards out and it only carries 2 cards. Doing all this at a checkout when you can just use Apple Pay seems a tad ridiculous for me.

It a valid point that you make. However the wallet is useful for carrying cash for when you need it and ID cards without having to carry a bulky wallet plus when I rest my phone on a table, the wallet ensures that the camera surround isn’t sitting flat on the table

If it works for you then that’s great I would say. I carry a slim wallet in my back pocket sometimes but I haven’t used cash since March as most shops are now set up for contactless with the pandemic, although most were beforehand. I don’t even use my iPhone usually for Apple Pay as the watch is more convenient. I guess a MagSafe card holder is just not aimed at people like me. I’ve got a super slim Caudabe Sheath case on my iPhone too so the camera is well protected when placed on tables. No offence meant, I just see this as one of the more niche accessories Apple have released.

Yep I echo your sentiment there. I’m in London and yet to find a place where I can’t use either contactless or Apple Pay. In fact I don’t even carry a wallet or cards at all since Apple Pay was launched in the UK.

I only carry 2 cards when I’m travelling abroad. I use Curve card for all transactions generally because I have all my other cards to hand via Curve and I keep the physical Monzo card just in case I lose the Curve card. Monzo is used as my main travel expenses card which is also available via Curve. AND both support Apple Pay so mostly even when I’m abroad I use either contactless or Apple Pay if that’s available.

The pandemic has just rapidly made it more convenient because some reluctant businesses that didn’t have contactless have now implemented it as well. With me it’s as simple as - if you don’t have either Apple Pay or contactless then you’re not getting my business. Oh, and I also mostly use the watch instead of the phone. Super convenient.
