Had it a week. Was convinced I’d be returning it.
I have been using it with just a hotel key card inside- figured if it was to fall off etc then at least I won’t lose anything important.
I also thought it would be good to see if the key card stays working we all know that those cards can get messed up by being near your phone - we’ve a been there. Get back to the hotel room after a long day, room is always miles from reception. Tap the card on the door and get that flashing red light.
Anyway, a week of use and it’s. Even fine. It’s actually really ‘handy’ to have the wallet on the phone- and oddly rather enjoyed having a spot to leave the hotel key when I’m out and about.
i slide off the walket from my phone when it’s still in my coat pocket and then slide the key out. Where I stay during the week needs the key for the doors and elevators so it’s all become quite a nice system to have.
so far it’s not slipped off or fallen off. I’m confident to use it with more cards and it’s a nice bonus to know the phone won’t wipe those key cards.
I use it with the apple leather case rather than naked iPhone - the grip / stick is fine.
But yeah. It’s expensive.

I should've bought it when bestbuy had the 20% off... now I'm waiting for the next sale and will jump on the deal and grab myself a wallet... I like the idea of having it attach to my phone... but sometime when I'm using my phone in public... i just don't feel comfortable with the wallet being exposed... so I guess i will have to get used to taking off the wallet when i don't need it in my pocket when while in public.

It’s pretty easy to do, once you’ve done it a couple of times.

As shr631 said it's pretty easy to slip the wallet off and on inside your pocket once you've gotten used to it. I wasn't all that comfortable with the thought of my wallet being exposed either, but usually my hand is covering it when I'm using the phone anyway. I also decided to go with the Baltic Blue wallet on my Pacific Blue 12 Pro so it wouldn't be so glaringly obvious that there's a wallet on my phone.

I've had mine for 3 weeks now and love it. Stays very firmly in my iPhone mini both naked and with a MagSafe case on it. Easily removable when I don't need it. And yes, I do wear tight pants and still have no issues.

Do you think the MagSafe Wallet protects RFIDs? There’s no mention of RFID protection in Apple’s info so I guess not and will have to use a RFID card sleeve.

Definitely going grab one when bestbuy has their sales lol.

Yes. It’s RFID shielded from the front.

Your cards are safe from magnets included in the phone and wallet.
So the Apple MagSafe Wallet provides RFID shielding front and back? Shielding against magnetism also shields against RFIDs?

I generally don't carry cards, but occasionally I need to go to the bank, or to the post office to pick up parcels, and so I bought one to store my licence and card. On Christmas Eve, I grabbed the MagSafe wallet, and off I went, forgot that it was on, visited the bank, visited the hairdressers and then home, and forgot about it. Woke up on Christmas Day, and then realised that it wasn't on my phone, searched the entire house over the next hour, and then into the car, and retraced my steps, all at 6am before my planned training run session.
Mad half hour at home, locking my card, and luckily still apple to use Apple Pay.
This morning went over to the hairdressers, and the guy who cuts my hair, had a huge smile on his face, and proceeding to walk around to the till, open it, and pass me my MagSafe wallet with cards.

Very unlikely to ever use this again. Made for quite a stressful xmas day.

That does sound like a nightmare bet your heart rate was through the roof

I understand this view when it comes to the wallet as it’s one of those where you need to remember or be mindful it’s on there each time you pull it out your pocket for sure.

I tried one for a couple of days and returned it. With 3 cards I could barely get them out. $60 for a magnetic wallet that holds 3 cards just was not worth it for me to keep.

This is what I’m afraid of... I received my wallet... and the impression of it is not what I expected... like others been saying... can fit only three cards and the magnet doesn’t seem as strong as it should be to secure it to the back of the phone...

That’s your own stupidity. I have been using it flawlessly since the release day. Don’t blame the product when it’s user error

Seems a bit harsh to call someone stupid. Sure there are learning curves that come with this. But let’s be honest, even Apple is figuring out what magsafe will and won’t be good for. We’re the beta testers for their next iteration or their decision to scrap it. It is not perfect, and truly solves a problem that does not exist. It’s great that you like yours and are at an aspirational expert user level. But the product is a platypus at this time. (edit: a word 😦)

I don't think @Madonepro was blaming the product.

The magnetic strength of the wallet needs to strike a happy balance, too strong then you can't easily break ("snap off") the magnetic hold while it's in your pocket or bag. When you're done with the wallet the magnetic strength has to be to strong enough so that you can feel it securely "snap on" the iPhone when you put it back in your pocket. The only change in behavior is the need cover the wallet with your hand or finger when you take out or put in your iPhone in your pocket so the wallet doesn't get knocked off. The benefit of MagSafe Wallet is it's like a Folio when you want it attached and an independent wallet when you don't. Also having it attached makes holding the iPhone feel better as it touches your palm when holding the iPhone, similar to having the slim battery pack on the back of the iPhone, except you don't get the heavy weight feeling of a battery pack.

A part of the problem is that Apple is not providing much information on its use case or on the product. For example,
on apple.com Apple's info on the MagSafe Wallet is simply: "The leather wallet supports up to three cards and is shielded so it’s safe for credit cards." Shielded from magnetism not deactivating the mag stripe on card cards? Shielded from RFID skimming? The information provided by Apple is not very detailed.

From MacRumors and other sites we know the backside (the side attaching to the iPhone) of the MagSafe wallet is shielded against magnetism so the mag stripe on credit cards doesn't get de-activated, but what about the front side of wallet? It doesn't seem Apple-like to only have the shielding on one side of the wallet to save a few cents in manufacturing costs. Is there's a lining inside and all around the wallet that serves as a shield against magnetism? I also read that shielding against magnetism also shields against RFID. If that's true, why wouldn't Apple state that their wallet is also protected against RFID? The information that came with the MagSafe wallet is just a picture of a credit card inserted in the wallet with the mag stripe side pointing to the front.

It's a shame that you choose to display your mood when responding. As others have said, I didn't blame the product, I merely stated what happened.
It's a balance with having too strong a magnet and not strong enough. I used to use the Belroy Card case, but thought this would be a good option with MagSafe. As stated, for me, it isn't.
Let's hope your mood is better today, Christmas does the strangest things to people.

Doesn't your hairdresser have your phone number for appointment purposes? He could have called you to tell you found your wallet.
