I noticed that one of the sides of my magsafe wallet has become very soft and has started to peel off. I took the back of my nail and gently rubbed it which made it start peeling off like it melted or something. So weird, never exposed to water or anything crazy. Also never dropped the dang thing.

anyone else have this yet happen yet? The other side is still good.

That does not look normal. Raise a case with Apple or wait till their stores open.

I thought I read all of their stores had reopened. Have you tried for an appointment through the Support app?

View attachment 1743465Wallets do that. You’re expecting to much. You buy a wallet from the mall are you going to go back months later and complain about it wearing? No... and what the heck people here saying go make an “appointment”...... for a wallet accessory??? If this wasn’t Apple this would be straight up snooty. I think it looks good anyways your wallet with the aging. You’re making something out of nothing.

Cool, thanks for your input. I was asking others if they had this issue, not trying to compare it to a $20, 5 year old wallet.

The rubber that is holding this wallet together is completely peeling off. It started 3 days ago and at this rate, it will open up the side rendering it unusable.

Apple leather sucks. Plain and simple. The cases and the wallets. For the price you pay, Apple should be ashamed. There are much better, higher quality leather products to be had.

Same problem with mine. The sides turn sticky, like they were melted. Anyone managed to claim warranty from Apple?

Apple told me it was caused by me and was not a manufacturer defect over the phone. Said I could take it in to a store if I wanted so they can check it out but I dont really have the time for that right now

Of course they would. You bought a sub par product from apple, next time, buy a third party vendor product that is built better than apples accessories. I have seen many apple branded accessories fail when third party vendor's same accessory lasted for years. Cables are just one example. Wallet/"leather" cases are another. Apple uses Pleather whether they will admit to it or not.

Well that's just false. Bash them all you want for how their leather is wearing this year but unless you can provide proof don't spread misinformation. Makes you look foolish.

My wallet looks nothing like this. Must've gotten one of the real leather ones.

Keep telling yourself that. Whatever makes you sleep at night. It't the same "leather" that BMW and Merc use on their seats now.

I tried to get mine replaced in January. Apple said it would be covered under warranty and I could get a replacement, but they had to forward me to a different department to do it. They forwarded me to 6 different departments and I got nowhere. So, I gave up and stuck it in a drawer. :)
