More baseless claims. You're on a roll.
Prove I am wrong. It's not like apple NEVER told a lie to sell stuff before. There is nothing wrong with the material, it just does not hold up to wear the same as real leather, and proof is in the case pudding.

I tried to get mine replaced in January. Apple said it would be covered under warranty and I could get a replacement, but they had to forward me to a different department to do it. They forwarded me to 6 different departments and I got nowhere. So, I gave up and stuck it in a drawer. :)
That's odd. Any time I have ever contacted apple C/S, it was quick, painless with minimal hot potato phone routing.

Well that's just false. Bash them all you want for how their leather is wearing this year but unless you can provide proof don't spread misinformation. Makes you look foolish.

My wallet looks nothing like this. Must've gotten one of the real leather ones.
Apple apologist. Prove that their leather is real. Otherwise, you are spreading misinformation.

That's now how debate works, my friend. If you're claiming their leather products are not what they claim then the burden of proof is on you.

Namecalling: also not how debate works. Please specify the misinformation to which you're referring, as my claim that Apple is using real leather is backed on their own website.

Also, if you were to feel inclined to check my post history I have no qualms with calling Apple on their poor decisions and this isn't about defending Apple, it's about the alarmism that runs rampant around here along with -gates and Apple doom. If something is wrong with your product, it doesn't automatically make it a problem for everyone. If it's not up to your standards, make it known to Apple and hope they make it right. Coming here and hollering about them ripping us off by lying about their product materials is just dumb when anyone can use their own five senses to debunk it.

Apple leather may not be fake, but it is THIN and poor quality. I bought an Apple leather case in California Poppy. I dropped it in my garage. Yeah, the drop was my fault, but I did not expect the leather to gash so easily. It has a deep gash in one corner that shows you how thin and poor quality the leather is.

I ended up buying a Bullstrap wallet leather case. I could tell the difference immediately. First off, it smelled like actual leather. The quality and build of it is much better than Apple. I liked it so much I bought another. So I have 2 bullstrap leather wallet cases...one in Ocean and the other in Sienna (blue and brown color)

My point proven. Leather does not peel. fake leather does. rubber does. Not leather. The edges are NOT leather.

Who said the sides are leather? I thought most people would know that the sides of this wallet are not meant to imitate leather upon unboxing.

Keep telling yourself that. Whatever makes you sleep at night. It't the same "leather" that BMW and Merc use on their seats now.
Only if you don't tick the genuine nappa leather option box. Well made synthetic leather, as used by many car manufacturers, is actually pretty good at resisting wear and tear by the way.

In terms of device covers made by Apple, I have never found any that last to an acceptable age without looking like they have just been through a nuclear strike no matter what they were made out of.

That's ridiculous. It's like saying a wooden table is fake because it has metal screws in it.
You'll find these seals on every high quality leather product.
NO. You won't. I have plenty of wallets that are real leather, that does not have "rubber seals" in it. That's a load of crap.

I know, I own one. A 2010 merc GLK 350. It has the "leatherette" seating. My 2003 A4 has real leather. You can tell the difference but its still quality in the Benz. But, if it cracks your done. it will peel off it's backing.

Here you go:

of course this more refined and barely visible on a 500$ Wallet, compared to a 50$ Magsafe Wallet.
