Mail client shows only 1 week correspondence

Hi all,
There are two mailboxes in the Mail client that show only 1 week correspondence.
1 mailbox is hosted in Microsoft Exchange Online and another one elsewhere and connected via POP.
I checked disk space and there are about 300GB available.
Tried rebuild - didn't help
Tried to remove and readd - didn't help.

If someone what is it please let me know how to fix it.

Can you login to Exchange Online and the POP account via browser and confirm your emails are still there?

Are you saying that one day you were using your Mac and the Mail app had a load of old mail that had been retrieved from a POP3 account…and the next day the POP3 account only had mail going back one week?

Yes in Exchange Online all emails are there as well as on an iPhone.
Sorry I should have mentioned that in the beginning.
