The post #9 fix worked for me too. In addition, with “show in history” unchecked, the emails now show up in my notification history! (they didn’t appear in my history when “show in history” was checked).

Pretty strange bug to slip through for so long.

The disappearing mail notifications have been around since iOS 10. I ran into that a few times under iOS 10 and had to do a restore to fix it.

Seems like in this particular case it's a little bit different in relation to how things work on the iPhone X.

Restoring won't fix it on the X. I've tried a bunch of things - only the "Show in History" workaround seems to work.

I got the same issue. The workaround mentioned with the "show in history" work.
Still the issue remains on 11.2 latest BETA

I think I didn't have it on 11.1

On another X, it doesn't have the issue on 11.1.1

Apple really doesn't like mail notifications or something... weird that this wouldn't be a critical fix.

The problem with toggling the 'Show in History' button is that the mail notification is no longer shows in notification center when you get an e-mail while the phone is in use.

Yeah it's only a halfway workaround. I haven't had a chance to look at the latest beta to see if it's still happening.

Supposedly iOS 11.2.5 has a fix for this.

Well, it hasn't. In fact it's worse than ever - literally missed all my messages this afternoon and Googled to find this thread in my search for an answer.

Yesus.

How does his make you miss messages?

With the X, I don't regularly unlock my phone to home. No messages in lock screen or notification center and no bubbles appearing in Siri shortcuts means I didn't notice for hours bah.

But the issue with this is that email notifications don't get to the Notification Center once unlocked, while they are still there on the lock screen and the badges for them are still there on app icons (not sure what "no bubbles appearing in Siri shortcuts" means).

Uh - are you doubting I'm having issues?

Yes - if notifications are stacked on top of them and your phone unlocked when you view them, you don't see them drop off the screen because they're below the screen. By no bubbles, I meant there are no badges. And like I said, I don't regularly unlock my phone to home. When I interact with my phone, it's normally to do something and the app I want is normally in Siri suggestions, which does not display badges.

I'm not doubting your issues, I'm trying to figure out if they are the same ones as the ones here or something beyond them.

Well, it's the exact thing described in the first post. If messages are actually on screen when this happens, I'll see them disappear, but if they are below the visible area under other notifications (that aren't disappearing on unlock), there's no way to see them fall off the list. I have no indication of those notifications unless I unlock my phone, go to that screen, and see that icon.
Quite frustrating as this has plagued my phone for awhile, but this is the first time I've missed something because of it and it's been random but consistent enough among Mail, Messages, and a few other apps.

(mostly complaining here since there's not really any other solution)

Well, that's the thing, this particular issue is limited to email notifications, and more specifically to ones from Exchange accounts it seems. What you are describing seems to be something beyond that in the sense that it applies to other apps and affects more than just lock screen notifications not making it yo Notification Center.

The partial workaround for the issue so far has been to toggle the "Show in History" option for the related mail notifications. Not sure that would help with your particular issues.

Ah I see what you mean. I'll give this a shot.

I believe this is finally fixed in 11.3 from my quick test.

To test, go to Notifications and turn "Show in History" for Mail back on.
