Mail outgoing issue

I saw these as two differnt issues, one of which was resolved (the outgoing mail issue)
The other issue is problems in .mac mail, totally separate from above. That is why I started a new topic

In fact, I was asked (see above) to post this in applications where it was felt it was more appropriate. So I am not clear why it then got moved back here.
