Wuthering Waves has been announced as coming to the Mac App Store later this year, both in the Japanese livestream and through posts on the YT community page/X page.

Basically, think of it as similar to Genshin Impact.

So I see that while Mirage didn't include any RT effects, Skull and Bones did (just RTGI) so it is likely Shadows won't do reflections or shadows with RT. Rock Paper Shotgun has a guide on what settings to use for Skull and Bones that will likely be the same for AC:Shadows (on PC clearly) and they did not notice a difference (aside from the performance hit) when toggling RTGI on and off on a 4060.

These settings are for 1440P on a 4060.
Ray-traced global illumination: The one and only ray tracing effect in Skull and Bones, and an unnecessary indulgence. The quality difference between this and ‘standard’ lighting is negligible, and disabling it pushed the RTX 4060 up to 68fps.

Even with a relatively short list of PC graphics options, there are still a few tweaks that can seriously put the wind into your framerates. Here’s what I’d consider the best settings for Skull and Bones:

  • Upscaling type/mode: DLSS Quality or TAA Balanced
  • Environment details: Medium
  • Water: Medium
  • Volumetric clouds: Medium
  • Motion blur: Off
  • Ray-traced global illumination: Off
  • Everything else: Ultra High preset equivalent

This mishmash still looks nice – definitely more like the High/Very High than Medium – but lets Skull and Bones run far quicker than if you used the former presets as they come. The RTX 4060, for instance, averaged 109fps with them (including DLSS), almost doubling Ultra High performance and dramatically smoothing out visits to those hardware-intensive hub towns.

Older rigs will benefit, too. Using these settings, the GTX 1060 could average a slick 57fps at 1080p, which is about as fast as the Low preset with TAA on Quality. Only, y’know, far better looking.

With 3 weeks to WWDC it seems that we're getting a new wave of game announcments that Apple will use in their presentation. So far we've had Honkai Impact 3rd, AC Shadows, Frostpunk 2 and Wuthering Waves to mention major titles. It feels as if Capcom opened the door for more South East Asian game studios. We have now Japanese Capcom, South Korean Neowiz and Chinese miHoYo and Kuro. I hope Capcom announces another new title for Mac at WWDC.
:)

Fromsoftware where you at 😏🤔. [I think I would lose it If Elden Ring was announced a WWDC in time for the DLC]

In all seriousness, I do think Capcom and Neowiz have opened the gates. Lies of P and RE4 Remake play phenomenal on M1 machines. Baldurs Gate III.

With unified save files between MacOS and Windows, it could be the true game saver.

So has anyonegiven the iOS version of 3dmark Steel Nomad a try? My M1 Max 24c gets between 40 and 60 fps. Overall powerdraw hits 60W according to iStats.

As an aside my Pixel 7 Pro only hits 5 fps.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max averages 9.7 FPS on Steel Nomad Light Unlimited.

It looks like I also get 23.8 FPS in Solar Bay Unlimited, which 3DMark says is faster than 88% of iPhone 15 Pro Maxes that have run the test, so either I’m seeing a benefit from the latest version of iOS or I did well in the chip lottery.

I'm not sure how well Solar Bay takes advantage of the hardware acceleration Apple provides.

Okay, now we know at least. Mac and Linux was the first strech goal people paid for. You can read about people's disappointment after 8 years in the comments. Personally I was neither impressed nor fond of the pixelated graphics in the new game.

Didn't someone say Nightdive had a history of promising the moon then dropping projects and moving on the new things?

Yeah folks are bummed.

I didn't mind the retro graphics in the game.

Cities: Skylines II was planned for a day-and-date release on Mac. Now they have to do a console port first. A Mac release can happen until 2026.

So the prediction I made is right. It also means that PI shouldn't pressure the devs to release the game early on. But I'm glad they are on the process of porting it now.

Again the stats seem a bit fishy: 102.84%. Intel should have 26.08%.

Mm. Looking at the models, EVERYTHING gained some kind of use, except for one.

I think Valve's trying to... maybe fix the survey, but screwed up somewhere.
Or ran it twice. It's happened before.
