Probably never considering the M1 MBAs are still technically sold new at places like Walmart. Doubt M3 will have that longevity. Curious if they'll bump M2 off when the M4 (or 5?) airs arrive but keep M3 or keep going with M2 as the base model Apple sells.I wonder how long it will take M3 to overtake M1.
I'd think that Apple would remove the M2, since they avoid using it in comparisons. The SoC may be less expensive to make but considering the performance, they should eliminate it.Probably never considering the M1 MBAs are still technically sold new at places like Walmart. Does this mean that my M1 MacBook Air needs to be replaced with an M4 MacBook Air?
I'm done paying US$2300 for a decent MacBook Pro and this M1 MacBook Air cost me US$1349, IIRC.
I've put my money into photographic equipment, so I'm not buying a computer until the M5 or M6, if I'm still alive by then. 😆I'm right there with you. My M1 Air is great, but I think the M4 model may get me to finally upgrade. I travel a lot and the MBP is a little too chunky for my taste.
Friggin' Crossover's $22 cyber Monday didn't help!
That's not surprising. The PS5/XSX versions will do 100+ FPS at 4K. It's not a hard game to run.60 fps at 4K Ultra on Mac Mini M4.
60 fps at 1440p Ultra on MBP M1.
In the News thread someone said it was capped at 60 on macOS. It seems like it also had some frame pacing issues according to that person and the DLC they just released hasn't been made available. That said I do plan on getting it for macOS (cause I want to show that we care). That's not surprising. The PS5/XSX versions will do 100+ FPS at 4K. It's not a hard game to run.
Some games I've bought just to show that there is interest, but the latest Prince of Persia is more graphical but looks much the same kind of game I didn't buy in the early 1980s.In the News thread someone said it was capped at 60 on macOS. RE7 begins like a true horror movie, amazing beginning.
I think they all allow you to play the first "level" (about 30 min) for free before having to buy the full game.

I was thinking about before there was a DirectX, it was the WinG library that required Win32s on Windows 3.1. I took some time to explore programming with it. That was 1991 or 1992. It's took probably 10 years for DirectX to become good and they're still working on it.Now that Intel has shown off XeSS Frame Gen and Xe Low Latency I guess it is Apples turn (maybe that is why we still haven't heard when CP2077 will be released on macOS they are waiting on Apple).
