Major gaming news at WWDC: Metal and New games

If you pre-order at the originally high price do you get charged right then or when the game actually comes out? Wondering if folks are better off waiting for the game to come out before pre-ordering if there is no price matching.

You get billed at release:

Although, no idea if it's at the price at release or when you pre-ordered or the lowest between those points.

You couldn’t pre-order before the latest price cut.

With the latest update to AC:S have you guys seen any performance improvements?
I haven’t kept any detailed numbers so take it with a grain of salt.

I would say there is a slight improvement. Maybe 5-10fps. However, it almost seems more stuttery. Higher average, but lower 1% lows and 0.1% lows. Weird. I would be interested in anyone else’s results. M4 Pro with 64GB ram here.

New Apple silicon-only game?

It's pretty nice. Performance wise, it's not so great on mac. M4 Max Studio 16/40 64GB RAM, 1080p, medium settings, 40-48fps.

This is getting a bit hilarious. Robocop is on sale and down to 165 SEK here which is about 15€ or $16.5. In the US and EU it costs $20/20€.

Meant the game is for Apple silicon Macs only and not Intel Macs.
Ahhh. smh /slaps forehead. Sorry 'bout that. It would run badly on Intel Mac anyway. It doens't perform well even on a high-end intel windows system. mid 30fps at 4k, maxed settings with a 13900k/4090. High 60's if you use quality dlss.

EDIT:
There's definitely some bugs in there making it odd with performance. If I use the preset for whichever quality to use, it tanks. If I manually choose each option, it does a LOT better. Preset giving me 30ish fps, manually, it changed to over 100fps; on the PC. Doing the same on the Mac version, gets me in the 40's and 50's.

I found a way to fix the frame rate issues in Into The Dead Our Darkest Days on both mac and pc.

If you set it to LOW preset, then turn the graphic options to Shadow > HIGH, Light Vol > ULTRA, Global Illumination > ULTRA
That will bump the fps back up.
Here's some pictures on a mac studio and a pc. You'll see the picture with high preset, maxed settings, will have the very low fps. The low preset with maxed settings will have the higher framerate.

M4 Max Studio 16 cpu cores, 40 gpu cores, 64GB RAM

Intel 13900K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, 32GB DDR5 RAM
