If I wouldn't lose all of my app data. I have days worth of gameplay saved on that thing. Apple really needs to fix that. Major issue in not being able to save game data separately. They'll never be considered a major player in the mobile gaming market until that happens imo.

I think Apple's solution is to restore from your back, hence the reason it's made. If you choose to not use it, that's your choice. I like having my app data restored. I don't think it's a total given that restoring is detramental.

As far as battery life is concerned, completely discharging the battery and recharging it will probably fix your problem with nattery life as much as anything else.

You can also restore from your backup but reset all settings afterwards. Has the same benefits of a restore as new (9/10) but less damaging overall.
