It is beyond me why Apple would never think that a user would want to make a contact group from a message they were viewing in Mail. No, I don't want to go to another app, create a group, then search for each person included in the message I was reading and drag them over to the group. Really [bleeping] frustrating.

If anyone has a solution for making a group from within Mail, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

Yes, you can create a group email in Apple Mail, as said in hg.wells’s reply.
No need for an additional app.

This is often referred to as a "mailing list" or a "distribution list".

You can create one by going to "Contacts" and creating a new group, then adding individual email addresses to the group.

You can then select this group as the recipient when composing a new email.
