Just a few weeks ago a man in the Atlanta area was in a Home Depot I think, and some guy ran up behind him, knocked him down, and ran out the store with his iPhone out of his holster. The thief had even scouted out the security cameras and was able to avoid having his face shown on them. :mad:

The cell carriers have cell tower triangulation but I am not sure if they have access the the GPS data on the device. I can understand them being able to triangulate the devices position because of the information that they have but I would not want them to have access to my specific GPS data.

I didn't say they should always have access, but only once the device is reported as stolen by the owner. At that point why would it bother you if the device's location was constantly being monitored?
