Even someone as simple as I figured out that it was a phishing site, or possibly a trojan
You don't have to worry about malware on your Mac unless you actively install something. However, phishing sites can ask for your personal information and if you give it to them, you could be exposing yourself to identity theft and unauthorized access to your emails, financial accounts, etc. Be careful what information you reveal to websites and be careful what software you choose to install.
And you know this how? Any computer can get a virus if the user is stupid. While it might not be as easy to get a virus on a Mac never assume it is impossible.
A computer can get a virus without the user's knowledge or consent if it's not protected by antivirus. Macs are not immune to viruses, but no Mac OS X viruses exist in the wild.
Your main claim is that a Mac can't get a virus is that correct?
They can, but they don't, because no Mac OS X viruses exist in the wild.
.. there most definitely are viruses for OSX.
Name one.
Man, you are a stubborn one. Seems like you haven't been a Mac user for very long.
Pirated copies of iWork '09 infecting thousands.
Mac Defender in 2011.
Do some research first.
Some research that might help you is to learn the difference between trojans, viruses, worms, etc. The links you posted are not viruses.
You don't need any 3rd party antivirus software to protect Mac OS X from malware. No viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any, since it was released 10 years ago. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some basic education, common sense and care in what software you install. Also, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Lion have anti-malware protection built in, further reducing the need for 3rd party antivirus apps.
If you elect to run a 3rd party antivirus,
ClamXav is a good choice. Sophos should be avoided, as it could actually increase your Mac's vulnerability, as described
here and
here.
