I don't see anything that is funny about rape. It is a violent act against another human being. In this case done at the point of a gun. I actually wonder how the man could perform under pressure. Personally I think that the anxiety producing situation would be a complete turnoff.

Rape is still rape. How can you possibly think this man was lucky?

For one, he was held at gun point. For two, it obviously took a lot of guts to come forward as he knows police will take the piss. A lot more men get raped than is actually thought but due to male machoism, they never come forward. You don't enjoy it because its sex, you fear it because you have no control and you're being forced to do something you don't want to do.

I'm glad this man came forward. It may persuade other men to do so too.

Well by that logic, I guess I can't make the broad general statement that I wouldn't enjoy having one of my limbs amputated without benefit of anesthetic because that has never happened to me, right?

I think I can take a fairly reasonable guess that I wouldn't enjoy being held at gunpoint, in fear for my life, and violated by three possibly HIV-infected strangers.

A question for those of you who think this would be fun: do you think that "bottom" gay men who go to jail and get raped enjoy it also?

Sex is only fun if you want to do it. Period. Does anyone seriously think otherwise?

I agree that this is a serious affair despite my lighthearted comments earlier in this thread. Being held at gun point and forced to do anything against your will would not be fun and should always be prosecuted.

However I am still a bit skeptical about the story due to the fact that he got into the car with them to give them directions, went into the hotel with them to have drinks, and then got into their car again to give them directions to a different hotel. Why on earth would he get into the car to give directions? He was out walking, one can only presume that he would end up much farther from home than he already was by getting into the car. Even if the hotel was next door to his house, why did he get into the car again?

I don't doubt that men can be and are raped, however I think there is more to this story than is being reported.

Sadly there is always more to a story than we are told. In this day and age I wouldn't get in a car with someone that I don't know. Guess he just felt more relaxed with females. As long as the gun was used then it was forced rape and assault with a deadly weapon.

Maybe he got into the car and was going to cheat on his wife/gf, and instead of having consensual sex, he ended up being held at gunpoint.

That's the only decent explanation I can think of, because getting into the car to begin with doesn't seem innocent. He wanted something. Nobody just gets into the car to show them directions.

And yeah, he may have felt aroused during the whole thing, but that doesn't mean he liked it, so it's a crime. Joke all you want, but I wouldn't want it to happen to me at gunpoint. It'd be different if it was a hot teacher who seduced me as a student, where I do have a choice (although I am young...), but if it's done by gunpoint, it's not really fun, and it's not your choice anymore.
