no, more often...but more so for mac minis...laptops less often...but monday is often a big one...sometimes fridays also....

but those 1649 were all from the same batch......colonel-panic saw them all over 6 days...not a week and a half as he orignally stated...and they we all from the same batch placed on monday.

They are good buys at 1649, if can grab one do so...but it may be awhile.

I was off on the week and half thing by a few days (I was making an estimation before I confirmed my invoice and the IM's)... They appeared in 3 DIFFERENT instances throught that 6 day period. They might have been from the same batch as buckwheat is suggesting but I know that they weren't up for the whole six days. There were gaps of time where they weren't listed between each date that I listed because those dates and times weren't the only times that I checked.

I'm going to keep watching but I might just buy a regular 15in at retail if I can't get one of these.

You are certainly correct. They were not up for all 6 days but they were up for more than 48 hours straight. My point was that this was the first time they have been up for an extended period. Not gone in an hour or two as in the past. As some say they have been.

My feeling is it may be a while to we see the extended listing again. And if that is the case you have to be on your toes to grab one or the wait might me long.

They are definitely a smokin' deal if you can snag one... From all the researching and configuring I did before buying I believe that this deal offers the biggest bang for the buck on the Apple store between the various models new, refurb and education pricing. Especially if you do any upgrades yourself. I am just waiting a couple weeks to do the RAM upgrade on mine (gotta let the wallet cool off) but when it's all said and done the same exact model BTO from Apple (500GB 7200 RPM HDD & 8GB RAM) brand new full retail comes out to $2715 (after tax). The refurb with a Western Digital Scorpio Black 500GB 7200 RPM HDD (from Newegg) and 8GB of Crucial RAM (from Amazon) is $2034. That's a savings of $681 off full retail or $478 off of the education pricing.
